How Long a Wait?

I'm genuinely happy for the people that got builds scheduled last week. But I'm upset at Ford for letting a bunch of folks wait a year without a VIN.

Seems like there are no reliable predictors of how long you'll have to wait for your truck. Locale, trim level, options, power train, etc. None of it seems to matter.

The shipping of built trucks is another matter entirely.

My opinion: the least Ford could do is offer 0% financing to everyone waiting longer than their purported lead time of 16 weeks or whatever they say. I could've gotten 0.25% less on my financing if the truck was on time. I suspect I'll end up paying an entire percentage point higher than what the rates where when I ordered the truck.

Those of us who got such a quick turnaround are a bit sheepish about it. Doesn't seem fair to us either. The APR idea seems entirely reasonable . . . and kind of hte least Ford could for folks in your circumstances. And, even though my build week is still at 4/25, I'm not very confident about getting my truck in timely fashion. Chip-hold after production/shipping delays seem likely.

I ordered 12/17/21 an XLT, Sport, 302a, crew, 3.5EB, twin panel, B&O sound, power rear window, standard trailer tow pkg, extended range tank, wheel well liners, adjustable pedals, and bed utility pkg. Order was confirmed next day, built 3/19, and should arrive any day. ?

I opted for fewer tech features, such as 360 degree camera package, and co-pilot assist, with hopes of a faster build, which I think worked. I don't care for them anyway.

I was a KS built with a Fort Wayne, IN dealership. (8 HR drive from plant to dealership) It was send VIA rail to Elkhart, IN (less than two hours away from my dealership) where it has been sitting for the last two weeks.

My ETA is 4/15-4/21. One more day - we'll see if she shows up.

That's interesting to hear, especially since the KS plant is the one that was shut down at least twice that I know of.

Congratulations on your luck! I do hope you'll share some pics when you take delivery. Always nice to see a shiny new truck!

Ordered 2/18/22. Still no VIN. Nothing.

Lariat, front bench (6 seater), 6.5' bed, Max Tow, Tow mirrors, PowerBoost, 360 Camera, Bed hooks, 7.2kw, No Sport/Chrome packages. Agate Black with Black interior.

Anyone see anything that should make my truck take longer than average? If so, please let me know. I might change it.

Ordered MY21 platinum on 8/28/21. They said 6-8 weeks is normal but because of higher model and chips they predicated 10-12 weeks. Predicted delivery is now 4/28- 5/4. Just 8 months since I ordered.

5.0, still not scheduled, I am waiting for a buddy of mine's truck that he said I can take delivery of instead of him since his is coming too quickly for him. He ordered on 1/03 and it's already built and shipped, same config as me except he picked space white and no spray in bedliner and no bed cover.

Get your dealer to add spray in and cover for free. Should never pay for those things.

I’ve been getting those since my PB 701A was built on 1/26. It still hasn’t shipped.

sounds same as me. Although the vvr says I am on ‘plant hold’ not chip hold. Seems like a shipping logistics issue to me.
I was built on March 15th and awaiting shipment. Stuck there since

Ordered in aug 21. Rolled into 22 in oct. Still no vin or any thing. On another post someone put out that if you do not havve a vin by sometime in july it will most likely be rolled into 23. It also looks like the last 22s will be built in October
