It sounds like the average wait is 4-6 months, I'm at 4 months no build date yet. At this point I'm just enjoying my current car as much as possible and trying to get the truck out of my mind until it is actually built.

I hop on here now and then to see if there are any general updates.

Good Luck!

Thanks much. What's your sense of what seems to be creating specific delays? I've read that spray in bed liners, moon roofs, and interior work surface may be a particular problem. I am guessing that the higher the trim level the more chips you have, the more chips you have, the more the delays are likely. True?

My build is KR, 157", Powerboost, 7.2 generator, moonroof, interior work, trailer tow package (not max), bed utility package, 360 degree camera . . . everything else is standard King Ranch. At least I'm not at the top of the trim levels . . . maybe that helps a little bit.

There are a ton of factors at play, but it seems that the more options you have the more you wait on average, like you're saying. I don't think the non electric options are holding back unless the blockage in Canada is holding them up right now. As for trim level I don't think that matters as much, it just depends what options you added or what comes standard.

Going on 10 months. It’s built. Ford can’t be bothered to ship, for over 3 weeks now.

5.0, still not scheduled, I am waiting for a buddy of mine's truck that he said I can take delivery of instead of him since his is coming too quickly for him. He ordered on 1/03 and it's already built and shipped, same config as me except he picked space white and no spray in bedliner and no bed cover.

18 Week in, still no VIN, but hey at least I am a priority code 2 now hahaha. 2022 KR, 6.5ft bed, 5.0L engine, ect... Doesn't seem like KR get any love in production, they are the slowest to get a build date.

So, roughly three weeks since build and not shipped yet . . . have they given you any reason as to why the shipping delay? Heard anything from anyone else with a delayed shipment? My build week is next week and I'm trying to figure out whether I'll be held up on shipping as well. Tks for any insight.

No explanation other than “carrier delays”. Ford has failed logistically at literally every stage of my order, from order to vin, vin to build, build to ship, zero communication from ford - literally everything I know comes from begging chat for info that has across the board proven useless or inaccurate. Dealer doesn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Wish I could go back in time, but sunk cost is a powerful motivator right now.

no trucks and drivers to pick my truck up is what I was told. High fuel prices and Covid surging. No one wants to work.

I was debating on a F150 or the refreshed GMC Sierra before going Ford. FWIW the GMC dealership told me they were having transportation issues and that it was causing delays on their trucks as well, on top of everything else. That was a few weeks ago.

Covid is done, only mandates and ridiculous rules remain
