My 2022 f150 hybrid modules seem locked down. Forscan seems to have access when my other scanners can't. Is there any other way to monitor pids

Forscan is looking on other networks that many scan tools do not.

OBDLink is decent phone app for a Bluetooth OBD device. It can also read all the Ford specific PID.

In so confused. I bought a topdon scanner. Flagship model. After messing with it for days and never finding a way to access engine or hvac modules I finely called them. Apparently there is a compatibility issue. No support for late model ford's.
Wish they had said that earlier.
I don't understand the way these talk.
I can do so much with forscan and you guys say the obdlink works. I have one. Is it obd software specific? Do I have to use the app that came with it?
What I need is
1. Monitor pids. O2, cam position, fuel pressure, power balance. everything about engine.
2. I need to do active tests. Blend door actuators, test dash controls, calibrate windows,.

I'm not sure how much the obdmx works.

Am I expecting too much from a scanner?
Any advice would be appreciated.

OBDlink app with the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury add on PID library.

~1500 PIDs

Works great with Forscan as well

Monitor PID yes.
Snakebitten and others have a fancy OBDLink app dashboard with a ton of PID data monitored for Powerboost trucks. There is a thread for it here somewhere.

Can't do testing other than a few basic standard OBD tests. Real tests you can do some in Forscan. What Forscan cannot do you would need FDRS and the high dollar cable.

Thanks but I'm still confused on how forscan can access the data where even high end scanners can't. I know a little bit about can busses, high speed low speed and k lines. What's different about ford and forscan?

Forscan gurus?
They are dedicated and focused on a single platform, and obviously tenacious about staying up to date with continuous changes.

With OBDlink's new Ford/Lincoln/Mercury package for the 2023 F150, it became obvious just how much change can take place from the manufacturer, even though the vehicle itself is considered the same generation.
A 2023 F150 can use OBDlink's 2022 F150 PID library. But a 2022 F150 can NOT use the 2023 PID library. And from what I have seen on this forum, the 2023 PID library is far more expansive.

But yeah, only Ford themselves have more monitoring ability on the F150 than the Forscan team does. Those folks are amazing.
