How do I permanently delete the engine shut down at traffic light

The start stop is one of the most annoying features I think I've ever seen added to vehicles. Thankfully I programmed myself mentally to automatically reach and shut it off so it doesn't bother me anymore. But what an annoying feature.

You can do it through ForScan or just buy an Auto Start/Stop (AS/S) eliminator and install it. Google start stop eliminator.

I have a 2025 F150. Tried the forscan option, but had no effect other than a code on the steering section in diagnostics. I'm going for the eliminator option. I talk myself into believing I can remember to press the button. Then over half the time I forget until the engine stalls at a stop. Instantly slightly irritated. Whoever thought of this should have an elephant caress his toes.

for a while there was a simple wire you unhooked from the battery that disabled it. I did it to a couple raptors and f150's. not sure if it's still a thing.

Pretty sure that method also disables the BMS, so ... nope.

I thought I wouldn't be able to remember but it is second nature every time I get in. Took me maybe a week to get that into habit. Really not a big deal to me either.

I forget sometimes as well. But in 4+ years of owning my '21, it hasn't irritated me enough to drop $100 to eliminate it.

so itll disable any accessories when the key is off? that stinks. the other part of "maintaining battery life when the truck is off" made me laugh. its off. whats to maintain?!

4D tech is much simpler and you can enable or disable the S/S switch at the console, it remembers the setting (either on or off) at start up.

Wish I woulda known about 4D because I used the original start stop eliminator and it was a pita to get the switch out to install. I had my wife help with her smaller hands.

This $49 version from Amazon works great on 2025s with the start/stop switch over the headlight switch on the left of steering wheel. No modification necessary.

Little tight getting the plug off, so id recommend taking the side panel off to get access from both under and the side.

Now a few weeks later forgotten about the whole start/stop thing. Think it defaults to off on every start, but didn't really test that.

It for sure doesn't work on 24-25, and I think maybe even 23.
