How do I know when a transmission shifts rough?

I can feel it shifting especially the lower hears but then again I could in my Lincoln too; it's not what I would call rough.
Sometimes I get one shift that is rougher; I can hear the clunk and feel it but again it's nothing crazy or anything I would call lurching or braking.

What does it feel like for people who do have the problem? I know it's hard to describe objectively.

I haven't had any hard shifting issues in my truck yet. Sometimes I can feel the shifts and sometimes I can't. I don't mind feeling the transmission work but that might be pretty subjective.

We used to own an Ecoboost mustang with the 10 speed and it would occasionally get hung up downshifting at yield signs and rolling stops. Instead of downshifting into 2nd or 3rd when trying to accelerate after braking, it would hesitate then slam into 1st so hard it felt like we got rear ended. Some people on this forum have mentioned a similar feeling with hard shifts.

Every now and then when slowing to a stop light I feel a harder than usual clunk into 1st gear but it’s not rough enough to bring it in and I’m sure it would be wasted trip
