I’ve seen different threads that mention options to get homelink added. I have a 2024 xlt 302a that has the auto dimming mirror

I’ve seen different options and it seems like adding a new rear view mirror makes the most sense but I’m still confused on the best plug and play option

I’ve seen the Toyota mirror that runs off a battery and a Kia that you can buy a harness for

I’m not sure if the auto dimming ties into any other options in the truck. If not it seems like the Toyota might be the easiest since there isn’t wires to worry aboht

thoughts and suggestions appreciated

thanks!

I have a 2024 Lariat and cannot get my HomeLink to work. I clipped a remote on my visor right beside the HomeLink pad. It works like as good as anything else and I don't have to turn the truck on to use it. It's the easy solution for me.

Try Bob's Mirrors. I put one in my 2021 PB and it works great. Still has auto dim and speed sign recognition in the OEM.

Mirror for F-150

You have to turn the truck on to use the Homelink? Mine works and opens the garage just fine with the engine off. Is that new for the '24s?

I apologize. I cannot answer that question for a new F150 since mine has never worked. Other new vehicles I've driven don't work when the vehicle is off, so if someone breaks into your vehicle in the driveway, they can't come into the house via the garage door. My assumption was this was now a common safety feature.

I found you need to follow Homelinks method of programing the opener and not Fords. I added the HomeLink visor to my 21 and tried Fords way a few times. It didn't work. Went to HomeLinks page and it worked. I did have to try it twice before it programed and make sure you clear the HomeLink unit.

Exactly. I've never been thrilled about the fact that it works with the engine off. Our Lincoln is the same way. I'd worry more if I did not have the garage door connected to our home's alarm system. People overlook that yet they'll put a lot of valuable stuff in the garage. LOL

Clearing the garage door open codes may be the key. I couldn't find it in any manual, but some have said it has a limit on how many openers can be programmed. The thought of having to reprogram the other vehicles and openers has taken away my motivation to clear all codes. Maybe this thread will get me going.

I purchased this for my 2025 XLT 303A. It was a direct replacement for the "FU5A 17E678 VA" mirror my pickup came with. It was plug-and-play with the included harness. I was able to remove the cover above the mirror to conceal the additional length of the harness. The Homelink works great, and the mirror dims and functions the same as the original.

Check the part number of your mirror and see if it matches mine. If so, this should work for you too.

Regards,
Chad
