Help with changing miles on my odometer

I changed my cluster on my STX, But the used cluster needs miles reduced. Are there any companies that offer this service I contacted clusters by livinitup but they are not able to do this service for this cluster. Forscan can only increase miles.

Correct, you can go up, but can't go down for fraud reasons.

You can sell that one and buy one with lower miles to match your truck.

That cluster can’t be rolled back. At least I should say I and Livinitup can’t.

That one you have to buy with less than what you have. When we sell them we order them at the time of purchase from ford .

I'm not going to spend the money to get an all digital dash. I do find it interesting I can get an all digital dash for my XLT 302a.

I think you have to replace the upper dash to do it correctly.

You also need to make sur eyou get the proper one with the proper software. You have a 23 if you install the wrong one you will prevent future updates.. You cant throw whatever in. You have to be sure everythig is correct. Otherwise youll be stuck and never get updates

How do you know how many miles it has on it now? Where is the odometer reading stored? I'd hate to purchase a used truck with false mileage.

You could add whatever it was vs what it should be by adding an exact value. For example if you should be at 3345 miles and it's got 8790 listed, you could add enough to round it up to 9345 yielding an exact 6k miles difference. This, in the short term at least, will allow you to see actual mileage at a glance by subtracting 6k from the total.

I strongly disagree with the suggestion to move to the 12", you've got the best display for these trucks in my opinion due to ford's poor utilization of screen real estate. Renderings of analog gauges is rather meh, adding no functional nor informational differences. Different dash trim is also needed for the 12".

Since dinosaurs started fueling cars it has always been stored in the gauge cluster.




I think nowadays it is also stored in one of the truck modules, but that cannot override the gauge cluster. I know OBD2 officially added Odometer PID few years back and our trucks support that, but I'm not sure where that value is coming from.

Are they relying solely what's in the IPC, or is the PCM keeping track (or combination thereof for redundancy). One day they'll unify all data, particularly on the telemetry.
