Have you looked through the hole underneath your column to see if the harness that runs to the BCM is there? This will let you know if you either need a "soft button" activation or SCCM (steering column control module) or both.

I wold also unplug that connection and make sure the terminals are populated on the Clock-spring.

As Blown - F150 said this would be your next step...looking for pins on both sides of your current SCCM. Remove the brown plug since you have your airbag taken out and look through that bottom hole. No disassembly required. Report back.

I’ve been trying to read all of this and make sense of it. I have a 23 501a Lariat that had the HSW delete. After checking I have the wires from the BCM to the clock spring, but it goes to a blank plug. Seems like all I need is the heated wheel and the correct clock spring.
Are these parts correct for a 501a with 360 cameras, auto wipers, pro trailer and trailer hitch assist?

ML3Z-3600-RA steering wheel with leather and heat.

Also does the wheel come with all the buttons pre-installed? The crappy images on Tasca’s website make it appear so.

Here’s a few pictures of what I found

It appears your module is blank on the air bag side. Did you remove the gray plug at the rear and confirm that is blank as well? Most likely it will be. The number you list for the wheel is the same one I ordered (2022 XLT 302A) Can't speak to the correct SCCM you might need for yours.

@ongrade you definitely need both the wheel and SCCM. Most people here will suggest you buy the complete module instead of "piecing together" the clock spring.

I'm sure others will chime in on exactly what you need.

So it looks like you've got both the correct wheel and the power harness. The gray plug on the right supplies power to the steering wheel heating element through the module (2 wires...1 is power and the other is ground). What you need now is to remove the brown plug (behind your air bag) and see if you have pins inside your SCCM. If blank then you will need to change that. If pins are present you could confirm power there with a voltage check. Take a pic (if still taken apart) and report back.

Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total
ML3Z-3600-RA Steering Wheel $279.22 CAD 1 $279.22 CAD
ML3Z-3F791-BB Steering Column Wiper Selector $110.27 CAD 1 $110.27 CAD

Above should be more then you need for a clock spring. It has auto wipers and power wheel adjustment. I used these parts on a 302a. The clock spring is easy to add or re.ove needed items. I didn't use the auto wiper stock orthe power wheel adjustment. I also switch my steering wheel buttons on the left side of the wheel to match my orginal options. All pretty easy

Completed this upgrade and everything appears to be working as it is supposed to. I am getting a DTC in the SCCM though that will not clear. Code U2101 - control module configuration incomplete. Status: Malfunction indicator lamp is off for this DTC. Has anyone else run into this?

Thank you for that link. Turns out I needed to swap the steering wheel buttons from my old wheel. I didn't do that since I plan to do the adaptive cruise upgrade soon and just figured some extra buttons wouldn't cause an issue since everything for those is disabled.
Hmm, I added the heated steering wheel with the adaptive cruise button as well (without having added the adaptive cruise components sitting in my garage as it is too f#cking cold here currently). If your interested, you can change the Forscan values and you won't get any DTC's for the buttons that also have the adaptive cruise control.

I did the same. Just had to change the value in ForScan to the right part number for the ACC switch.
