Just wait until I figure out how to get myself forscan on one of those dingle units

pretty sure my truck is never gonna run right again lol

do you guys still get OTA’s if you changed forscan entries? One of the reasons I want to get a mongoose is to be able to update all my modules with FDRs
Just make sure you back everything up locally before hand, then you always have a fallback lol.

Yes, you'll still get OTAs as they come out, but I haven't had one since I got mine fully updated a few weeks back. Honestly, at that point, what's the point of OTAs if you can update what you want quicker anyways with FDRS once you have everything.

Agreed that’s my hope!

Well I put the SCCM back in with the heated steering whee plug only to realize my license for FORScan ran out ?. I swear I’m not a beginner lol, but I think I’d have a hard time convincing anyone of that right now.

anyways, does anyone else feel like the leather quality of the heated steering is actually very poor compared to the non heated leather wheel? The heated wheel feels a lot more plasticized

Ok, I programmed it with my OEM as builts and the new steering wheel works just like the old one. I do not have the wiring built yet for the HSW, that is the last thing I have to do. I have a buddy helping me because I’m retarded when it comes to electrical

With it being "leather" I would imagine it just depends when/where it was made exactly. Is a new or used wheel? It's pretty easy to see differences like that even between same vehicles it seems, just the nature of it really. Even between new and old trucks I would see stuff like that, lariat to lariat.

It’s a brand new wheel that I got from varsity Ford that is marked as a lariat heated steering wheel. I don’t hate it, but it feels a lot more fake than my factory installed wheel

Sccm cancelled and on backorder with other places I tried. This is for a Lariat. Is ML3Z-14A664-B the only one for 500A No blue cruise? thanks.

ML3Z-3F791-BB is what you need, but again finding one right now is easier said than done. Even on eBay they are hard to find now.

Sorry to get slightly off topic, but is this the connector for FDRS and FORScan?

Also here's the list I have so far to retrofit my 2021 XLT 302A. Does this look like it will work?

Looks like the list I put together except you don’t have the steering wheel bolt. For some reason they insist it’s a one use bolt. Here’s the part number, in case you want it. W721079-S437.

I also bought the rain sensor LU5Z-17D547-B since the turn signal switch that comes with that column housing is for rain sensing wipers. I pulled off the plastic cover above the rear view mirror and my truck was wired for it already so I figured, why not.

Seems worth a mention that I repeated @dhageremtp's experiment and ordered the ML3Z-19980-K from Tasca for $103.73 (plus shipping & tax, $127 all-in). I ordered on 12/6 and did get a "required special ordering" notice from them on the 10th, but it showed up on the 17th in apparently-perfect condition, with the digital readouts.

Now if only my truck would show up, too...

I remember those days! I had my tonneau cover and winter rims ready to go before the truck even got here lol

How do you plan to wire it up? Is it plug & play or are you tapping into other wires?
