I have a 23 Lariat 3.5. I’ve been experiencing a harmonic vibration between 67-75 mph while in 10th gear And turning 1700 rpm’s. The vibration can be felt throughout the vehicle and is easily duplicated. I took it to my local dealer today and was first told they duplacated it and balanced my tires free of charge. I knew that wasn’t the problem because I had just replaced the tires and had them road forced balanced. The dealer was notified at write up about this. I was skeptical that it was fixed and sure enough as soon as I got on the highway it was the exact same. I took it back and requested the tech ride with me. While riding with me, I duplicated it right away. He claims there isn’t an issue. To me it feels like vibration source is in the driveshaft or rear gear. Has anyone else experienced this. Ford if you read this, please reach out. I was very displeased with my service today.

I have seen some people have had driveshaft problems.

Yeah, there have been people that have had vibration and noises. For some it was the differential. For some, it was the driveshaft.

Buddy of mine has a 22 3.5 with the 3.55 rear end, bought it used and had a vibration at 64-68, dealer replaced transfer case, hubs, driveshaft and tried a dealer lot set of wheels and tires to no avail. It was something in the rear diff, they swapped out an entire assembly and is smooth as silk. If it’s a 5’5 bed you have an aluminum driveshaft which is susceptible to damage easily and are balanced. Make a good inspection of any defects or obvious missing weights.

I noticed a very slight vibration several months ago. 55-70mph?

At first, I could only hear it and not feel it. Then started to be able to feel it but still only very slightly. Hard even to pin point from where. Sorta the whole truck, not just steering wheel etc. I mean, barely perceptible but real. Just not near bad enough, to expect a dealer to acknowledge it, let alone, spend any time hunting for the cause.

It hasn't changed lately.

I'm hoping the tire rotation due soon, takes care of it, or makes it bad enough to pin point.

Similar to this?

I like this guy, I watch all his videos and I start believing that this has something to do with it. My truck has nearly 40K miles. There is zero vibration in the steering wheel, pedals, no vibration when braking.

Sounds very similar. Engine speed doesn’t matter. It’s the rotational speed from the back of the transmission to the rear end.
