these tires came with our truck. are these tires any good in snow? i'm sure it won't beat a set of true snow tires. please chime in on your experience with these tires when driving in snow. thanks.

There is a thread where I've posted pictures of the non Ford Hankooks that are WAY better than the OEM crap.

I asked this right after buying truck in spring told they are fine, then another thread came along and said they suck. My truck is Canadian import and they never changed the tires so they can't be too terrible is my thought. I plan to run them until they are used up because I'm cheap. ?

I live in Alaska and have no issues in 4A long as you’re use to driving in winter/snow conditions. I had the Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT (18in OEM) on my old truck - those suck donkey nuts!!!

IMO I would use the Hanooks for as long as they last. Actually, I will be using up two sets of OEM Hanooks before buying different for my 23 F150 as I bought a new set of OEM takeoffs (wheels, tires, TPMS sensors) for $1,000. Hard to beat that deal (pretty much going price around here). I took the Hanooks off and bought Michelin X Ice tires and now have a nice set of OEM grays wheels for winter and another set of the OEM Hanook tires to put on my BAP black wheel when first set of Hanooks wear out. Yeah, some on this forum get all bent up about the Hanooks but I have found them to be decent tires for my needs. Hey, if you have money to burn buy something else :)

I live near North Pole, Alaska. I had Hankooks on my 2015 and 2019, they were great. The Hankooks on my 2022 suck huge donkey nuts! I have them in my shed with 3,900 miles on them and will be happy to sell them to someone who thinks they are great.

Yep the Hankooks are a hazard in the snow. Slow down and use 4WD. I’ll keep mine till they wear out (shouldn’t be long), and they’ll be replaced with Michelin.

Contrary to what others have said, I had good results with the OEM Hankooks in the winter.

My former ‘21 came with them and I was pleased with the way the tires performed in the snow. I made it through 2 Michigan winters without issue.

YMMV.

Good to know. I can't justify buying new tires for a new vehicle. When the Hanks wear out, I will replace them with what I want.

I’m in Michigan and after reading so much hate for the hankooks last winter was a pleasant surprise. These tires are just fine. Even in 2H. Im now im at 40k and still have 8/32 so im going to ride them out. Waste of money to change tires when these are more than serviceable. That said when they do run out I’ll most likely put on Michelins.

After finding out they are stripped down versions of the namesake tire I said screw it and bought new tires for winter driving, planing to switch off for winter/summer driving. Wasn’t even going to mess with those in the snow. There are enough idiot drivers who go to the mountain it isn’t worth the risk of losing traction when trying to avoid those dumbasses(follow govy500 on insta if you want some laughs). Went with Falken Wildpeak this time around. Last vehicle(Jeep KL) had K02s that I loved but damn they are loud… Wildpeaks have done well on wet and dry pavement, and are hardly noticeable for sound. I intend to review them after this season when I see how they hold up in the snow.

Also aesthetics wise they make the truck look a lot more aggressive if you care about such things. The ford version of Dynapros look super pedestrian IMO.

I live in Alberta, Canada and so far my experience with them is that they are not bad on ice, but suck in the snow on my '23. I can get by with them provided I am in 4A. Luckily we are having a mild winter so far. My '21 had the LT package with the General Grabber's and they were way better in the snow. I always run dedicated snow tires on my other vehicles and I may end up going that route with the truck next year.
