Has anyone used this type of transfer switch mounted on their power box? I called my power company FPL and they approve this transfer switch provided a licensed electrician does the mounting/installation.
In my location Southern Florida this device is half the cost of having a transfer switch panel installed.
Thanks in advance

Generlink (behind the meter transfer switches) do not switch the neutral. When used with a gas generator (as shown) you have to modify the generator to remove the bond between the neutral and ground. In our trucks, you cannot remove the neutral-ground bond - it is internal inside the generator and cannot be changed.

The only way this can "work" (for a whole-house gen feed from your truck) is if you do not connect the ground wire in the connection into the F-150 inverter/plug. This has been covered in numerous threads, and is either dangerous or fine (depending on who you ask) but certainly does not meet code.

The other transfer switch solutions discussed switch the 2 enerigized wires, but also switch the neutral (but the Generlink does not do this).

Sorry for my picture as I’m only referring to the transfer switch that mounts on the power box.
No gas generator involved but my PB plugging into the transfer switch on the power box. Again sorry for my confusion in picture

You really should read JoeWpg's post. He told you what you need to know.

I do not think there is any confusion on his part. He is saying that in order to get the plug to work you have to a generator (truck or gas) that is non bonded neutral. On a gas generator it can be easy to do (defeat), but not for the PB. So straight up it may/will not work.

You have to defeat the neutral connection from the house to the generator, the specialized regular Generac transfer switch does this internally.

As stated there are a number of threads on this subject with 2 camps.

One is doing it to code with the gear that is commercially manufactured to make it work.

Two is the other camp and is "it does not matter", build your own gear and it can work.

Do some reading in the threads and you can form your own opinion. Me, and many others, have followed method 1 without issue. The Generac Transfer Switch was $400 and I paid $700 for a BBB AAA+ rated licensed Electrician to install it. My power goes out when the wind blows and now I keep my business running by just plugging in my truck. Good luck.

My lowest estimate (not always the best) by a licensed electrician was $2,300.00. This includes all wiring of new transfer switch box next to inside fuse panel and drilling thru outside cinder block with new plug mounting.
This is in Southern Florida where prices are crazy to say the least.

Thanks to all folks and replies as I have been reading the posts that address this issues when using the PB. The problem I see at least for me is the electrician's here aren’t familiar with the PB on these trucks.
Again thank you for the replies 👍

Good luck. Don't forget there is another method that works somewhat fine and is easy to do. It is limited but it will get the job done in a pinch.

Get about $400 of top quality extension cords and run them to central locations where you need them. Then run extensions from those extensions to power select items in the house. Window unit AC's work in a pinch for select rooms. Monitor the power consumption from the PPOB and go slow plugging in the items you want to work. Certainly not a pretty option but if you lose power for days, you will be glad you had them.
