The Bilstein 6112/5160s or the Eibach Pro 2R. Those two are our most popular overall but for sure with the PB owners. Id argue the 6112/5160 combo is a better route as that slightly firmer ride and slightly larger shock body works better with the PB overall. But truthfully those that also have the Eibach have had nothing but good things to say about them. Eibach does have the advantage too of being a full coilover set up so you can adjust the height to your liking and get each side to level out better. Eibach also can get up to 3" of lift (on a PB thats 2.5 of course) which is a 1/2" higher then Bilstein can provide.
Has anyone mixed and matched Eibach with Bilstien? I put 5100s on the back of my FX4 PB and like how they ride but I’m curious about the on-vehicle adjustability of the Eibachs for the front. Not looking to lift more than 2” anyway (if at all).

Ok I’m finally going to pull the trigger on rear shocks. I can get Fox2.0s installed for 500 or the 5100s for 400 installed.

I do zero off-roading unless you count the pothole ridden streets of Dallas.
I can’t speak for Fox but I got a pair of 5100s for $200, spent about 40 minutes putting them on (a power ratchet would have made it much faster!) and the ride is much more planted.

I think this has been one of the most cost effective upgrades on my truck thus far.

Oh yeah, lots have done that before. You don’t have to make the components be matching per se.

Brands do build their kids to work together though. so some of the notes of comfort and ride and whatnot may not line up 100%. But you’re not breaking anything or doing anything wrong by mixing brands by any means. We carry both full kits and just fronts/rears. So if you need some we got em!

Good input regarding the Powerboost. I’m going to give the Bilstiens a run and see what happens. Cheap enough experiment.
Bilstein is a great choice.
Of you happen to be going the 6112/5160 route we JUST got our 5160 restock in the other day. They have been on back order for awhile now. But we do have some if you need em!

With my last heavy duty pickup I put Rancho XL adjustable shocks at all four wheels. I could adjust the settings in seconds to have a more or a less firm response. The rear shocks were at the same setting as the front shocks when the bed was empty but with a heavy load in the bed I would put them at their highest setting for maximum spring dampening.

Both brands are going to be an improvement overall. As many have stated; Fox is going to ride softer then Bilstein. That comes down to a personal preference as to if that is a good or bad thing. We have tested the Fox 2.0s before and found they rode way too soft for our liking. But, we also do both on and off road driving. On daily roads they ride very well. Off roading they were way too soft.

Bilstein will definitely give you the firmer/planted feel. 5100s can ride a little too stiff for some folks but again, its all based on preference. The ideal middle ground to get the best overall ride and comfort could be the Bilstein 6112/5160 (or 5100) or the Eibach Pro Stage 2 or 2R. Eibach sits right in between Bilstein and Fox in terms of ride comfort. Not too soft but not too stiff. They perform well on and off road too.

Regardless of what route you go; your listed options or not a bad decision either way. It will come down to what you think youll like more. Our top selling kits are the Bilstein 6112/5160 and the Eibach Pro 2R. Everyone has loved those kits all around. Great overall rides. Not super expensive. And we just got a restock on all of them. So if you get more questions feel free to reach out to us anytime.
Do you have a preference for just doing the rears? 98% street driving stock height(or rear blocks pulled) and mild towing.

To be honest, just about anything is better than stock. The stock shocks are pretty awful in our opinion. But since you do some towing too I’d say anything with a rear reservoir. Such as the 5160s or the 2Rs. That will really get the back end planted better while maintaining every day drive comfort and support for when doing some towing or bumps and all that. Check out a couple options here on Our link

I have B6s to replace my stock shocks. It was a very decent improvement. My truck does not go offroad and is only lowered in the rear to level it.

Just got my 5100s installed. Haven’t hit the highway but I can already tell driving my neighborhood that it has way better dampening.

Best $400 I’ve spent, should have done this day 1.

Interested in a solution to calm down my 24 powerboost lariat with fx4/tow haul. Sounds like the eibachs may work best? I’d really like to level it, but can’t spare any height as I already barely clear a garage I need to get into daily.

I just did Bilstein 5100 in the rear with a sway bar and had the 6112 put on the front. Total different ride. Much more planted a lot less body roll. I didn’t level truck because I tow a trailer. 2022 fx4 f-150. No more soft ride. Rides like a truck should.
