Went out to my 7-month-old, '23 PB this morning and it was DEAD, DEAD, DEAD, not one ounce/glimmer of spark. Last driven on Sunday. Called Ford support, sent help, jump started it and now that its running, will be heading to my auto parts store to have the batteries checked and replaced if necessary. Any recommendations on which brand battery (AGM) I should consider buying and replacing even if both are considered somewhat 'good'? Should one of the two batteries have priority over the other if both considered good? Thanks for any recommendations.....CHEERS!

I fix software bugs!
I agree with @Jglew82 take it in to have it looked at and documented. I'm no expert but 7 month old AGM batteries don't just die.

Isn't the BMS/BCM circuity suppose to prevent dead batteries?

You are correct, needs to be documented...That should/will be done, but then again, knowing the Ford dealers, hate to not have it for days, maybe weeks at a time. However, majority of recommendations on here have been to replace the OEM battery with a quality AGM battery and that has solved many of the starting problems. Thanks.

My Brothers 2023 went dead. Dealer replaced the AGM battery Under warranty. you say 7 months, was that since purchase or since it was built?
The service guy said they are having some reliability problems with the AGM batteries.

Hi Allan! I can look into your F-150's loss of power concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your F-150’s VIN?

I followed the various dead battery threads for quite a while, I didn't keep a tally but my perception is that the 'faulty battery' episode seemed to mainly impact the 2021 trucks. There was a theory circulating for a while of either a batch of faulty batteries, or batteries that failed during prolonged storage dring the chip shortage days. It is certainly true that the frequency of threads about battery problems has dropped off quite a bit as the model years have rolled by. Yours is a '23. Have there been reports of a rash of bad batteries in '23s?

If I were in your spot, I think I'd be a bit hesitant to go out and buy new batteries based on the majority of recommendations here on the forum, for two reasons - you may end up spending dollars on the wrong solution, and you might be concealing an actual problem.

We all understand your reticence to visit the dealer which is often an unpleasant experience, but it might be worthwhilet have him take a look at any diagnostic trouble codes, run a battery test before leaping into new batteries.

Thanks Paul, haven't purchased anything yet. Once I got the vehicle started, headed to my local Ford dealer...Kudo's to them, I had excellent, fast, efficient service in the middle of the day, and they did a complete battery check and analysis, found nothing wrong. Its running great today (110 miles) but this was the third no-start issue in the last two months. I will send this issue to FoMoCo as per a previous response on this thread...Thanks again, Paul

Mullinax, Vero Beach, FL, 1FTFW1ED8PFB63299....Third time I've had a no-start. The two previously fixed themselves somehow and after many tries. This last one was the first total electrical blackout where i couldn't even use the key fob...Thanks.

I have similar issue.
The dealer runs the FoMo battery test and it passes every time.
My truck will go into battery save mode after 3-4 days of not running.
Dealer says it must be a drain in the truck, but here's the thing.
If I let the battery sit for a day it shows 11.6 volts.
The 2 hour FoMo cycling test is flawed.

My 23 had a bad battery 4 months after build. The quicklane tested it and it passed, but then the main shop used a different tester and it failed. Both tests were done in the same day. They replaced my factory H7 with an H6, then argued with me that it was supposed to have an H6 despite being a lariat high.

I honestly don't trust the motorcraft battery at all right now. It hasn't shown any issues (yet) but i also feel like it isn't exactly healthy. When I put my Clore charger on it the other day, it showed a 50% SOC. Hell the day they installed it it basically acted dead until i drove for an hour home then put it on the charger.

I have a '23 PB that was built the first week in April '23 and delivered to me on 5/10/23. I had mostly no battery issues (truck went into sleep mode a few times) until 10/8/23. I got stuck at Lowe's with the SSN message. Got a jump and drove home. On 10/16/23, my dealer diagnosed a faulty battery and replaced it under warranty. I subsequently took the advice of Snakebitten and installed a battery monitor on 11/25/23 which I monitor with my iPhone. I've had several issues of the truck not able to remote start after sitting for 2 or more days, but starting with the two step method has always been successful. AGM batteries must be charged correctly when new, or their lifespan is apparently shortened dramatically. I love this truck, and hope software updates will solve this charging problem. I so appreciate the skills and knowledge that I have gleaned from this forum.
