Ok brother, calm down, he has sensible replied to your comment(s), just ease up, my guy. We’re good, we are all here, learning. It’s a forum to learn and get better, learning from others knowledge. I might have some expertise in Honda/Acura, more than FORD products at my age, but you know what, I’m not an expert at working on FORD’s, learning curves can happen when you’re cross-owning vehicle brands. ??
There's nothing to calm down about. I'm just attempting to explain how capitalism and the free market works.

No difference for your CDN market vehicle relative to how the software works.
Okay, just maybe the couple spreadsheets I linked onto looked a tad confusing for different markets, since my DRLs cannot be turned OFF, just from reading a couple of threads on hear, etc.

I don't see why not, I've had to enable DRLs on some Aussie trucks which had them disabled. I'll move this issue to the FORScan thread by tagging you there.

Thank you, matey!

Yeah, I learned a thing or three, spent a few months with some species during some cold sand days.

No, I do not, in the regulatory or legal sense that you imply.

There's no shortage of examples of intentionally nefarious, misleading, or just plain negligently harmful undertakings ("wrong doing" [sic], if you will) by software developers in the US (or working under the purview of US-based firms in remote locations) with no regulatory or legal 'accountability' or repercussions whatsoever**.

IMO what does come into play, and what does work as a meaningful form of 'accountability', is consumer response and rejection when "wrong doing" is revealed. That market response may be the best 'accountability' one can reasonably hope for, and that works without regard to political boundaries.

IMO that consumer response / rejection will occur if / when any "wrong doing" on the part of FORScan is revealed (hasn't occurred in 13 years AFAIK).

Personally, I think that if one is inclined to suspect nefarious dealings with regard to vehicle systems, that concern is better aimed at US manufacturers and the remote monitoring and control technologies they continue to develop and promulgate (a tin-foil hat may be in order).

**The possible exception being copyright infringement or theft of intellectual property, which is usually resolved (or settled) in civil actions between corporations usually running for many years. And yes, political boundaries (not limited to just Russia) can serve as a 'shield' in some of those instances.

Again, if any aspect of FORScan causes you discomfort, just don't use it!
Well Said!!!!!!!

My FORScan 2 months trial is ending soon, and they are still suspended from purchasing a 1-year membership. Can I use another email address and create another account for the 2-month trial. Or will I have issues because I have the truck already in the system with FORScan?

What are others doing to access there FORScan with expired memberships? I did see somewhere that someone bought a 1-year license on ebay.....seems a little shady to me.

You can get another 2-month license. No need to create a new account or anything. The only rule is you can't have more than two ACTIVE licenses (different computers) at the same time.

There is a guy that supposedly is an authorized middleman to help you buy a 1-year license. I don't recall his name, but he is legit. Perhaps someone else has is name or contact info handy.

As of a couple days ago (12 Feb ‘25), looks like Forscan has a new payment partner for now, so one can buy a 1 year license again. See their “what’s new” tab on their website for details. Cost is $20 now/year. I didn’t try it. I’m also unsure if it will add a year to the end of an existing license or just one year from day you buy it. My older subscription is still active for a few months.

I purchased a new license for another computer today, went good and got code within seconds. I cannot confirm the adding of a license as this was new new computer/new license. i would hope you wouldn't loose time extending early.
