Fordpass location not working

When I go into the app it does not allow me to see the location of the truck. Everything else works. I can lock and unlock, remote start, see tire pressure, oil life etc. just not the location. Any ideas?
This is what I see when I try to look at the location. It says loading, but nothing changes

Location tracking could be turned off in Sync or it's yet another bug with Ford Pass. I have to refresh the location on mine 2-3 times for it to actually show where my truck is. Sometimes it will tell me that I have exceeded the number of map refreshes and to try again later then greys out the refresh button. I have to force close the app and reopen it for it to let me refresh again and then it will actually show me the live location.

I think FordPass is a gimmick. It’s hit or miss.

Mine did the exact same thing after the last update. Go to settings on your screen, then go to connected services and look for location and make sure it’s turned on. Then scroll down a little further and there’s another option for location that needs to be turned on. I forgot what it’s called but should be obvious. Just need to toggle it back on. Then give it a few minutes to update. I’m not near my truck right now but if you have any issues reply to this and I’ll get better info when I’m at my truck.

Did you ever fix this? My Raptor started showing the same recently. Everything works but last known updated location.

No, it’s still not working. I am going to call the support line later today and see what they say.

Could also try removing the truck from the app then relinking it. Chances are they'll have you do the this.

Failing that there's always Apple airtag.

I’ve fixed it twice by canceling my trial Ford Security Package. There was a message on my Share Vehicle Location info screen that said there was an SVS alert that needed connectivity. No explanation as to how to proceed so I cancelled the security feature and all is well. I re-enabled it a few hours later and it was ok for a few days but it came back so I’m leaving the security package cancelled. It’s definitely related to that, along with a recent update because I have had my truck since bought new in June this year and this issue just started last week.

Interesting. My trial of the security package is set to expire too. But the location was working properly until maybe a month ago. Last week I renewed the security package in case that might fix it, but it didn’t. But maybe it’s all related.

So I just got off the phone with the Ford App support team (the Canadian team - the 855 number in the app takes you to the US team, despite this being a truck bought in Canada).

There is a known issue with the last update to the app on IOS (only impacted the iPhone users) where the location information from the truck is not being displayed of the app. They assured me that the location is being monitored by Ford, so the theft security system can still track the truck. It’s just us iPhone users that cannot track where the truck is. Supposedly a new Ford app for IOS is coming soon that will fix the issue.

I have current version of ford app and my location works just fine. I have a 22 not sure if it’s an issue in newer trucks maybe.

That’s exactly what is happening to mine. There was an update yesterday to the App and the location will show a split second and go to unavailable. Thanks for calling Ford. Guess I’m waiting for the next pushed update and not bothering with the dealership yet.

I think the dealership wont be able to fix anything so would be a waste of time. The Ford support guy was clear in saying it was a known issue with the software and a fix is coming..
