Seems like Ford is getting a pass on FordPass. I haven't seen much complaining lately, so I think it's time to start again.

Coming up on camping season and seasonal storm power outages I want Pro Power monitoring and control in my FordPass app, damnit!!

There, I said it. Carry on.

I use my truck for truck bed camping and want to be able to control my generator via FordPass as was promised and somewhat worked when I first bought it. There was even bluetooth control which is needed when off-grid. Ford ripping out those features and not replacing them shows that they don't really care about their customers. It has been long enough now that they should have added back all the features they ripped out even if they really did need to start over. I think we've all seen that when it comes to software, Ford is basically clueless.

Not enough complaining about the FordPass rewards either.

Anyone else remember when the bed camera was going to send alerts?

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
Just noticed something in recent days.

Tried to open it the other day and it froze. The next day, it required a fresh sign in.

Once in, the tire monitoring screen is different and a windshield washer indicator is now along side the oil monitor.

I agree about PPOB but whatever they're doing, they aren't finished.

Not ford pass solely.
Buy why cant the truck turn on cameras, record a thing around your truck..of sensors detect.. then send a notice to ford pass???

As much as the modules continue to draw power even when the truck is "off" it seems simple, but for some reason Ford has little interest in implementing a Sentry mode like feature.

The PPOB monitoring on the app was a truly important function. The only thing I can think of that would explain why it was removed is if it required more data transfer than Ford is willing to foot out of the truck and over the airways. Do they use AT&T? I don’t know if this could be a factor, but if it is I’m sure most everyone would be willing to pay a dollar a month to have it back. It was already in the app, so no investment in software development was needed. Why would they drop it?

One thing I was wondering about why to drop PPOB from the app, might be liability.

I'm sure there is some legalese disclaimer somewhere, to not leave it unattended and the app facilitated that.

Liability is a real possibility. I’d sign a waiver indemnifying them or whatever it’s called.

I guess that's a possibility, but most companies like Ford are reactive, not proactive. I don't recall hearing of any issues. Perhaps they simply cut back on technical support staff and looked at any areas where they could easily cut. Bean counters.

I've noticed that version 5.14 has some bugs in it. The main one I've seen is that it will show that Automatic software updates are on, but it doesn't show the schedule, despite it being set in the truck. My phone has 5.14 and my tablet had 5.13, and the tablet showed the schedule correctly. When the tablet updated the app to 5.14, the schedule now says it's not set.

I realize that's a minor gripe, but it's a behavior that was working in the previous version, and it makes me wonder if it will show new/installed system updates like the previous versions did.

I'm ok with the oil life, tire pressure, even the washer fluid, but folks are wanting features put back that were in there before (zone lighting is still missing, but they re-added trailer light checks).

Maybe one of the resident geniuses on this forum could work up an app that would allow monitoring the PPOB. It seems the capability lies dormant in the truck. They removed it from the app but not in the truck itself. I’d buy the app.

I love a good rant as much as the next guy, but until you’ve experienced the screeed up SONOS app, you ain’t seen nothin’.
For those not familiar, SONOS is a high end, wireless audio system to stream music from a number of sources (on line music services, home library, phone, home theatre, etc) to an array of wirelessly connected speakers. As you might imagine, it is highly dependent on an app that runs on your phone to control the system.
It used to work beautifully until they took a shortcut last May, nearly a year ago, after which it has been an unholy mess.
So far, their fuckup has cost the CEO, the CTO, and at least one other executive their jobs, the stock price is in the toilet and somehow they STILL haven’t been able to completely restore all the features.

Now THAT is a world class app fuck up. Makes Ford’s fuckup with their app look like Romper Room.
