Ford Securialert Tip

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere, but Securialert in the Ford App seems to have a bug where it operates all the time and doesn't turn on/off with pre-defined schedule. This has been mildly annoying - I get alerts on my phone everytime I open my door, tailgate etc.

But: it's also been really useful to spot progress (or lack thereof) during two recent maintenance visits - so when the dealer says "the tech's been working on it for a while, but expects to take a few hours longer" its helpful to be able to respond that you *know* that nobody has so much as touched the vehicle in the last 24 hours which in my case produced a flurry of activity and quicker resolution of service needs ....

So, if you're truck is heading in for service, be sure to turn on Securialert and keep track of progress! Maybe also helpful if valet parking etc.

Did the same thing. I told them when it sat there all day and was dropped off the day before because they needed it for at least a day, then today they started on it at 1400 and told me they had a prob with the service puter. Told them that they should know my truck spies on them too. Lmao...

Are you saying you get alerts when it is turned off? So, you got alerts before ever turning it on? I say this because the schedule is independent from turning it on or off in the app. Most of the time mine does go by the schedule, but every once in a while I'll get an alert during the day when I get to work. I have my schedule set for night.

For what I can tell is that the app is a piece of crap. Even after installing and deleting it multiple times and then contacting tech support I could not set a schedule, then one day I was able to set up the schedules. That worked fine for a few days and then the schedule that I set up vanished. Now its back to either on or off all the time and if I turn it on it runs for a few days and then just turns itself off.

Like you I have schedule set for night, but currently I get alerts all the time - the schedule isn't working. Ford is aware of the issue ... but they haven't fixed it yet!

Mine seems to work most of the time. It's worked correctly all this week.

Agreed. The app should not be sending out alerts when unlocked via fab and sent out delayed/past alerts.

i got one my trailer was unconnected the other evening,
yes i caused it as i was re-adjusting the plug at night checking eveything before the early morning
truck was off and locked and my key was in the house
