... and today my app shows red oil life at 0%
You stinker, now mine does, too!
Very frustrating. Technician at the nearest Ford service center (1+ hours away) said to drop in and they will look at it. But it doesn't seem like an issue that can be fixed. Software, maybe?

Update: App went back to 100% after I activated truck

Took the truck into my local Ford dealer for a 5000-mile oil change. The only way that they can report anything to Ford is if they do a diagnosis and find something wrong. Thus, I would have to leave the truck for them to run diagnostics. I didn't want to waste my time or theirs trying to chance a software error they likely will not find.

Hope someone at Ford is monitoring our website.

For anyone that has their oil life go to 0% at a lower mileage than expected, check your Ford app. It still should tell you the real oil life calculation for a day or two.

I've always been old school when it comes to checking engine oil. Pull the dipstick and see the level first. Verify the color is good. Smell it. A lot can happen between 0-5,000 miles. Even if you don't check it at all, its time sensitive/mileage based so its a no-brainer to just follow the maintenance schedule.

I am having the same issue. Just had the oil changed a couple weeks ago and last week it dropped from 91% remaining to 0% remaining from one start to the next. The FP app showed the correct 91% remaining. I waited a day then reset the oil life to 100%. Today it dropped from 100% to 0%. FP still shows 100%.

I have seen the same issue now multiple times, while I certainly don’t use the percentage to drive me to have the oil changed, it’s a pain to get useless alerts. In a week on my next 20k oil change I will mention it to the dealer, not to get it fixed, but to add the issue to the database.

My dealer said they could not add it to the data base unless I left the truck there for diagnostic examination which meant leaving the truck with them and waiting in the queue. I wasn't going to waste their time or mine trying to track down a software error which they can't do unless it's at the moment it happens like you posted proof of the disparity.

I would be interested in what you're dealer says.

Same issue in my 24 PB. Just had the oils changed a few weeks ago and today it went to 0. Did anyone hear from the dealer about this?

My dealer said they would "look at it" next time I was in, but it isn't a sensor so I don't know what they can do. He also said they have had vehicles go from 100% to 0% as they took it out of the service bay after an oil change. That was encouraging!

For some time, my app was saying 100% even though my truck said 0%. Now they both say 0%. And it is VERY ANNOYING to have to push the okay button on the CHANGE OIL NOW warning that pops up every time I start the vehicle!

So the day after my oil change at the dealership, my “oil change required” message came up, and my oil life read “0”. I had verified before leaving the dealer that they had reset it. So I called the service manager, and he put in a Repair Order, which allowed him to elevate it to a Ford expert. So a little while later he called me back, and said that Ford had recognized an issue with the Instrument Cluster, and were working on a fix which hopefully can be deployed during my next oil change.

I've been watching my oil life enough now that I can start tracking how long the oil life calculator thinks a fresh oil change might last. I've driven 1,200 miles and now have 90% oil life remaining. That equates to over 10,000 miles. I'll will keep posting in 10% increments for those who might be curious (or at least until it resets to 0% for the 4th time).

When My oil life calculator was working (from new truck purchase to first oil change/service interval), I got down to 6% or so at around 10,000 miles. The tracker hasn't worked since, went right to zero shortly after that first major service. I think I will change the oil again when it hits 15K
