2024 Powerboost Lariat
I knew that there is a related thread here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...-oil-life-to-drop-to-0-2024-powerboost.36452/

But what I experienced might worth a thread by itself. Besides, a separate thread would show that this happens for multiple person so might help getting Ford's attention.

2024 powerboost here: recently changed oil for the 3rd time. First oil change after break-in at around 1k miles, second oil change at around 5k miles, 3rd oil change recently at around 10k miles. First 2 oil changes went ok and oil life was tracked by the truck correctly after resetting it (other than once when I keep the truck on for about 30 minutes while sitting in the parking lot: the oil life dropped from 90% to 45% or so. Being a powerboost, this was a surprise because for most of that time, the gas engine wasn't running. But this is a separate issue so let's move on).

After the 3rd oil change and I had reset the oil life about a month ago, for the first few days, the reset oil life wasn't reflected in ford pass and it stayed as 4% (see above why it dipped to 4% despite maximum 5k between oil changes) in the app for some time. Eventually both vehicle engine oil life and that in ford pass changed to 99% (after some driving). Then suddenly one day it reverted back to 4%! This was a surprise to me as the truck hadn't been driven that much and it was all normal driving. I reset it again and thinking that it was a glitch. But then a few days ago, it reverted to 4% (probably from 95%) again! This is just after driving about 1800 miles after the 3rd oil change.

This almost feels like that there is some old oil engine life being kept somewhere and it just kept resetting back to the vehicle. For full context, I did recently joined ford early access program (about 2 months back) and did get some recent updates to the vehicle. I am not sure if that's related but it is worth calling out.

At this point, I am just going to stick with my fixed schedule of changing oil every 5k. That's what I wanted and planned anyway.

Just one more unnecessary bug on the window not needed by anyone every. I just got back from my oil change and as I have forever will get it changed when it needs to be changed. I also don't need a buzzer to go off when it's time to poop.
