Who in this forum believes that Ford owes those of us waiting in the dark (9/22 order) a complete explanation and apology for their lack of transparency and total apathy toward paying customers?

I agree. Thankfully I have my truck albeit I have additional issues now but I do have it.

Not giving Ford a pass by any means but this has been their MO since ordering a customer vehicle was a thing. lol

To play the devil’s advocate, a new model year introduction combined with world wide shutdowns, slowdowns, a new CEO brought in during a crazy political climate and a bad year for winter weather is explanation enough.

A few bad calls high up can really snowball. That and things beyond their control is a recipe for production delays.

Just look at the Bronco, then there’s the Mach-E. I imagine that during a normal year, it would have gone mostly according to plan. However, less than a year ago, people were panic buying trucks like it was Cuba 1959.

Let’s hear that unvarnished from Ford is what I’m saying.

I don't think they owe you anything other than what you read in automotive news magazines especially this past year. There have been Corvette buyers waiting for a year only to have orders finally canceled and offered the next year model. Mustang GT500 has had orders take 10+ months. Shortages in all areas from time to time.
Do you think Ford or any other manufacturer wants to delay sales? They want to get the numbers up. But on top of that, your dealership might be low on the totem pole as far as allocation which is the dealer's fault not Ford.
I often special order my vehicles. But not this time around. I see delays and it's a crap shot right now. I found an acceptable truck in stock and snagged it.

I’m not looking for anything but an honest explanation. Speculation by us is nothing more.

Any PR company is going to say to let the situation speak for itself and let it quietly go away.

Ford isn’t the neighborhood diner, where they can comp your meal and say they fired the cook because the lettuce on your burger was wilted. Any statements will be heavily measured, consulted on and be several months delayed after the fact.

Even if the CEO could speak freely, he’s not going to say that you‘re lucky to get a truck at all or say ‘it was like that when I got here!’

My question, is what will the numbers be this year and how long into 2022 will they still be making ‘21s to keep the numbers up :p

  1. Completely new model year, with tons of upgrades where people knew they were going to wait to order a new truck resulting in unprecedented demand.
  2. Production issues relating to chip shortages.
  3. COVID outbreaks in factories delaying build start.
  4. Tooling issues with the new production lines, in addition to truncated testing times resulting in "pre-production" trucks sitting on lots needing to be "finished" before delivery.
Yea it sucks, but there's plenty of reasons why Ford and Other manufacturers have had such an issue pushing out new models.
Imagine waiting for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ only to have it delayed an entire year and them release what is essentially a lame duck 80th anniversary badged vehicle.

With what the world is dealing with for the past year, I think it is really impressive that Ford is able to deliver, especially initiating a new complete F150. Hats off to them and also Ford is not the only manufacturer that was affected, every manufacturer was slow also. Drive to all other manufacturers' lots and you clearly see a lack of trucks on their lots. Right now and moving forward the dealers will have more inventory showing up.

Maybe Ford can come up with some good incentives for March Truck Month. Maybe 0% for 72 months and an additional $1500 rebate

Most of these replies make excuses for Ford. I’m saying THEY should say it, explain it. Thats all.

To me is simple capitalism & economics. There are other companies & other truck options out there. If you feel Gen 14 F150 is the best option for you, or what you want, then you will pay the price & wait until it is delivered. If the price or wait don’t meet your expectations you have the option, which many in this world do not, to purchase a different brand and/or model.

Ford does not owe us anything…..There are establishments I do not support with my purchases because don’t agree with their politics, vendor treatment, or how they interreacted with me in a situation. If you don’t feel Ford is treating you correctly best way to send the message is to spend your dollars elsewhere.

Ford has absolutely had their hands full with all manner of problems on this roll out.
Unlinke any before it.

BUT

All that said.
Ford COULD have done a VASTLY BETTER JOB of communicating with US and their DEALERS about the real nature of the issue on a weekly basis.

That is precisely what I’m saying. Thank you. I’m still looking forward to my Platinum.

I remain VERY EXCITED about my new truck.
But man, no one ever offered me ANY UPDATES at all.
This forum was my LIFELINE
