Every single thing you buy in life is making some one else money. Do we stop buying?

If you buy a Ford Authentic ESP you will never ever have a fight about a warranty repair determined necessary by a dealer.

People buy Ford ESP warranties (IMO) for peace of mind, not to get ahead. JMO
It's not the normal profit model that I object to, it’s the odds of me coming out ahead financially by buying an ESP. I thought I made that clear. Maybe I should have made this my first sentence instead of the second:

“One is more likely to come out ahead by skipping the policy than saving money after paying for one.”

But I get it, not everyone’s situation is the same. I concede ESP’s may make sense for some. And so does getting the best deal on one.

You must have missed the recent “Ford says the seal is not a covered item” (and therefore the entire repair) thread. Or the many others where the policy holder was advised by the group to fight a denial / go to multiple dealers / get a lawyer. What about all the “that’s just the way they shift” or “the battery tests normal” threads? No thanks.

My '22 had about 36,500 on it and was a CPO Gold and within the limits to still get new vehicle pricing, just barely by a few months. I paid much less than that with Granger to take it to 10 years 125,000 miles from in service date. No complaints about them at all.
what you pay and get , over 6000 what the ford dealer told me the other day and I only have 8000 miles Tremor . Help In Florida

I think you being in FL is the problem because it's one of those states with the weird warranty purchasing issue. Someone else from FL will need to chime in if there is a way around that.

I paid $2,295 which took it to 10 years, 125k miles from in service date in Jan 2022 and that's the $100 deductible with the lighting option.

In a similar post elsewhere, the address scenario has been discussed. Some folks seem to have access to another part time home address in another state that they use. From what I recall California and Florida are the ones having issues with the ESP. So if you have access to another out of state address, you could use that. Nothing gets mailed to you.

Like Digital posted above, you are getting robbed and there is a way for FL people to get around the state issue. If you have anyone, friend, relative, someone you know, with an out of FL address, you can get it from Granger online and probably save about $3000+.

There are a number of threads here with the instructions but really you just need to give and out of FL address. Good luck.

I bought an extended warranty from Granger last year for my 22. 8yr / 100k with light add on and rental. Used fordpass points and 20% down. I'm paying 85 a month for 18 months. There was no admin fee. I can certainly see why they are doing that now and if you pay in full there is no fee.

currently shopping for an extended warranty for my PowerBoost, and many people have recommended Granger. However, I've noticed that they charge a 10% administrative fee.

While Ford advertises interest-free financing on their Extended Service Plan (ESP), and Granger seems to as well, this hidden fee effectively increases the total cost. For an ESP priced at $3,245.00, Granger adds a $324.50 fee, bringing the total to $3,569.50. because this admin isn't included when you pay in full this effectively is a 10% interest rate you are paying completely upfront

This practice is misleading and frustrating. I know Granger reads this forum. You guys suck

Edit: To be clear, I'm not complaining about the price of the product. I'm complaining about how Ford offers interest-free financing, but Granger takes it away from you by charging a 10% fee for using the financing.
So, was your post to merely come on the forum and bash Granger?

You have had more than enough time to check with other vendors such as Flood or Zeigler and let us know if they are the same or better than Granger in regards to an installment esp plan.

Saying that Granger takes away interest-free financing, while saving at least $1000 (probably a lot more than that), just makes me laugh. The practice is not misleading because when you get the initial quote it says there is an admin fee, and then lists it all out as you continue. Granger sells for what, $25 over cost? And you want them to finance that over 18 months for free?

Under their pricing, it states "This plan includes an admin fee and a 20% down payment upon purchase followed by 18 monthly installment payments at the indicated price." How is that misleading?

Well first there is the general essence of an "administration". What exactly does that mean. Is there some person that has a job function to administer the "0%" financing? And if so why is the admin fee a % of the total cost? Does it require more work to "administer" a 6000.00 purchase than it does a 3000.00? So that is one way you can identify a junk fee. The other is they advertise 0% but in reality because the administration is NOT a flat fee but a percentage of what you are buying it is essentially an APR, but instead of know what the interest rate you see what it would cost you to "borrow". Think of it this way. You buy a car and the dealer says, if you go with me I'll give you a zero percent interest rate but I will charge you a 5000.00 admin fee. Now you probably are thinking.. hmm I wonder if I finance through a bank my APR would be low enough so the the overall interest I pay is cheaper than 5k . It's hard for you to see that because the dealership is using the word administration fee and using dollar amounts. The admin fee graner wants to charge me works out to be equal to a 10% APR. I can get financing cheaper than that. Now you talked about their cost and how much they make. God bless you for being the type of person to walk into a store, buy something and say to yourself " I hope they are making enough money". If you for one moment believe that they are losing money in these deals that they wouldn't be doing it.
