You people need to maybe read a little before forming opinions?

Ford reported the new EV division would not be profitable until 2025 when they formed it. They lose money in 2023, as forecasted, and you all act like this is a shock.
That made me laugh out loud. You really expect the EV division to be profitable in 2025? They’re already discounting the electric vehicles because sales are dismal. The consumer and the infrastructure aren’t ready for the agenda he’s shoving down our throats. The ICE division is starting To hemorrhage too. Inflated pricing and the economy are taking their toll. Why else would Ford force dealers to buy vehicles to put in their FCTP program so they can show those numbers as sales hoping appease the board and manipulate the stock price?

I’m very well read and being completely objective.

Totally cool with that strategy actually. The 3.5 isn't that much worse than the powerboosts overall in terms of efficiency. I really couldn't justify the hybrid currently offered because I don't really tow much or put city miles on. The highway efficiency in the powerboost is simply unacceptable.

The Powerboost is an Ecoboost at 75mph.

Not sure how you might drive but I find the PB great on the highway. My over 3 ton PB gets between 22 to 25 mpg at highway speeds and I can’t find any fault in those numbers. And it’s a pleasure to drive. Plus it’s nice to have in your driveway when the power go out, keeps the fridges cold for drinks, coffee pot works, devices fully charged. Heck, I can even keep the gas hot water tank going for showers if the power is out for extended periods.

Just this morning on a 180 mile drive at 75 the whole way I got 23 mpg in my platinum PB. It would’ve been 19 or less in any of the 3.5 EB’s I’ve ever owned, I only mention the trim due to weight differences since all of the others were lariat or lower

This is ridiculous. Every 3.5 expedition I've ever had would be solidly 22-23 mpg highway without even trying. Heck, even most non hybrid 5.0s and 2.7s are getting way better than that. My 2.7 crew cab is 26.4 mixed right this second over the last 600 miles. Point is the mpg from hybrid assistance the powerboost offers really ain't significant and should be a focus area if we're going to keep complicating systems with electric add-ons. The powerboost should be getting closer to 30 combined if I'm getting 26 in a 2.7.

Guess I struck a nerve ?‍♂

I have a 2.7 STX and it’s gets 21 MPG when I drive like an asshole and 23 when I don’t. All of my co workers STX work trucks with the 2.7 also get 23. I’m not sure what your driving habits are, but on the interstate, 23 is pretty damn good in a truck at 75 MPH IMO. I’ve owned 4 other 3.5 EB’s and most of those wouldn’t get over 20 in the same conditions

If read, i am just stating fact. I am not expecting anything. I dont give a rats ass if EV is profitable or not.

Yeah that's the part I have an issue with. What speed does the electric assistance cut out anyway? Highway efficiency is much more important than city. If the average is only like 3mpg more than ICE, it really doesn't make sense adding the complications, cost, and weight into the truck . Id probably say 70% of my driving is over 50mph

In other news Mercedes just brought back the V8 engine to the AMG line due to declining sales over the last few years with the hybrid turbo I-4 cars. Interesting.

You're not going to get 7.2KW power out of just an ICE vehicle.

The only thing Farley cares about is Ford Model E he's been robbing Ford Blue ever since he split EVs and ICE into different divisions. The only thing he wants from Ford Blue is to sell over priced and very profitable F150s Ford makes 8 billion a year just on F150s. Most dealers are loaded with F150s with very high msrp's and even higher dealer ADMs. I have checked out several dealerships and their EV inventory is increasing and they have ADMs on them as well. Come on Farley where's the no ADM on EVs promise now.

There are a lot of Ford EV's without ADM. Perhaps you are unfortunate regionally?

The supply/demand for Blue Oval EV's (as well as some other brands) has recently cooled a bit. There are plenty of dealerships getting off their pandemic ADM high horse.
