May be heading down the Maine Lemon Law / Ford Buy Back Program path.

SO, does anyone have any knowledge or gone through this Ford Buy Back Program they‘d like share with me?

I was made aware of this Ford Program today when I spoke with Ford Customer Satisfaction people.

What kind of issues have you had with yours that is warranting pursuing a buy back?

I know @Thunderchief had Ford do a buy back on his 2021. He might be able to provide some insight on it.

My truck was in the Dealer's shop for 49-days and was scheduled to go back in the shop when I had had it 180-days. I asked for a "Repurchase" and Ford agreed. Ford was very nice to me through this process and was going to pay for my cost at purchase plus anything I had added after delivery. I had planned to buy another Lariat Powerboost so I kept the Tonou Cover and a couple of other things but Ford said they could not get me another 2022 and I would have to wait for a 2023. I didn't want to wait so I bought a GMC.

I thought that most of my problems were service related and not an engineering defect in the truck. When the Exhaust Heat Exchanger leaked, my truck sat in the Dealer's lot for 29-days. They said I could not drive it but the leak was slow and with a couple of gallons of coolant, I could have driven it. When the AC kept icing up, why didn't they know how to fix it? When the truck would not come out of park, I figured it had to be software and disconnected the battery for a few seconds which fixed it. Why did that keep happening? I started keeping a 10mm wrench in the truck just for this problem. It just seemed that Ford had not anticipated parts failing so they didn't stock replacements nor did the Dealer's mechanics understand the Powerboost system. I liked the truck a lot and would have accepted another 2022 had one been available.

Thanks.

I’m having the A/C freeze up issue and I did have the TSB done that was supposed to correct.

Takes about 10 minutes to get cool air flowing again after i shut off the A/C. My concern is winter driving, I live in Maine, so I’d lose defrosting too. I know this because I tried switching to Defrost and had the same results.

glad to hear ford wasn’t a Richard cranium with you.

appreciate your feedback

The AC compressor shuts off when the outside temp falls below 40F. For some reason the engineers at Ford decided that it's not needed below that temp despite it being extremely useful at pulling humidity when running the defrost.

As for the TSB in several cases, dealers ultimately diagnosed a failing evaporator core or a faulty temperature sensor as the root cause, and the only reliable long-term fix

In 2016 my brand new 1500 miles Mustang 5.0 oil pumped failed and destroyed the engine. They replaced the engine and I had many many electrical issues for about a month after. Consulted a lemon law lawyer and for $500 they sent Ford a letter saying we would be pursuing a buy back under the Arizona Lemon Law. It took about 3 months but Ford bought the car back for what was left on the loan, not a penny more, and they would not reimburse me for a rental car or for the 3 tow trucks I had to call. It was a massive headache to deal with them.

Thank You

Just noticed you're a former THUD jockey. A workhorse in Vietnam.
