I have a 11 16 and a 22 f150 all high end with high packages. While I miss the mood lighting in my 22 the entry light is far inferior to my other models. Especially in the rear seat area.
There is no footwell lighting at all.
Ford is following my motto of “Penny pinching our way to prosperity.” Deleting lighting in a 100K truck. Quality is in the toilet, engineering is pathetic and time for Jim Farley to be fired!

There were so many corners cut on my 2022 Ecoboost including lack of Sirius XM, nav package, Despite having the heavy trailer package I did not get the power trailering mirrors. They probably cut out a bunch of lighting because they knew the batteries they were using were junk. I am disappointed with the truck all the way around. Cheaply made, but not cheaply priced.

I'm super happy with the technology on my 22 platinum hybrid. The only thing they removed quietly was active park assistance and active trailer connecting. Wrong word but it puts the trailer ball under the hitch.
I don't use them but I felt cheated. So I ended up replacing the ipma module to get these features back. I think this will be the last ford truck I'm buying. The penny pinching stunts ford is doing is intolerable.
Dropping lighting, key pad and several other super low cost customer convenience items especially with a 80k truck.
Their cheap batteries had caused me untold issues and the fight I had to go through to get it replaced by yet another h6 that also failed let a stain. Kudos to a great ford customer satisfaction agent that gave my shop the authority to give me a proper battery. But sadly my quest for amazing technology has caused my truck to go to the dealer 6 times in 15k miles. It sits there now trying to figure why I don't have cruse or crash avoidance.

The biggest reason I won't be returning to ford after 2025 is the fact that ford has locked out access to major obd diagnostic.
I won't be able to change my brakes. Cant provide tuning. Won't be able to diagnose most engine codes. Everything the handy owner is now forced to take to the dealer. And even now it's a 4 week wait to get anything computer or electronic issue resolved. In 2025 there will be little technicians available.
Little by little ford is removing these comfort features that cause potential issues.

Sort of sounds like what Deere and Company did to the farming community with their tractors and other machinery.. The farmers sued and won. Deere has to sell them the needed software and diagnostic information and parts to repair their own equipment.

Perhaps that's the way this will go as well. We can always hope.

I think Stellantis got schooled also. Chrysler tried to completely lock out small shops and individual owners from doing day to day maintenance like changing brakes or diagnostic procedures. They tried to force owners to use dealers shops for everything.
They got sued . We now have to get an auto auth account to gain access to the data buss. Fortunately most medium to high end diagnostic scanners have the AutoAuth software built in. A $50 subscription give us back the ability to do servicing. The other manufacturers were also trying to lock out everyone but authorized service centers from being able to service their own vehicles. When stellantis lost the other manufacturers stopped moving in that direction.
