I remember job sites with kerosene fueled wicks on a small bowling bowl shape container. Circa 1959. Yes, I’m old.
Those are still in use, when doing cold weather concrete pours, or masonry.

Agree 100%, I find my self using my phone's light at night to light up the cab.

I actually don't mind. I consider it at least a pre-emptive indicator that a low voltage issue is developing. It isn't the indicator I'd prefer, perhaps. But it's not going to be unnoticed.
Sure beats getting in a no start situation and the front of the truck not accessible to jump start. Now that I know what is happening a NOCO 5A battery tender keeps the battery at a full state of charge...

I also have the NOCO 5A on the battery especially when temps are under 30 degrees.

Owned a 15 501a Lariat that had multi colored lights every where in the cab. Found it very distracting when driving at night and hurt my overall night vision with a NON shut off these lights. Jump to 18 got the 502a lariat and found Blue hue was the only color jumped to 19 701a ALL black interior Platinum still to bright inside the cab for my liking while driving at night. Now have a 22 302a XLT just the overhead courtesy lights that go OFF while driving and have ALL other light sources at a minimum setting and now driving at night feels better.

Come from the days of being able to turn OFF all interior light sources and drive at night with the poor sealed beam head lights.

Heck on a good moonlight night one could drive with your headlights off, taped off door switches and instrument gauges OFF while doing somethings the law still highly frowns upon in today's world.

More is not always better !!!

Yep, since I retired from work no more daily commute, only drive short trips 3 or 4 times a week, Alaska so plenty of winter, and my battery was never getting fully charged...

Yeah, that’s one feature that I never thought Ford would drop. I’m still confused as to why they drop that.
I think I need to try out the keypad. It’s on my 21 PB and I’ve never used it lol

Do most ppl use it so they can lock the keys in the truck??

I'm in the same boat, never used the keypad. On any vehicle that had it. The only useful thing I can see in it is if your keyfob battery outright dies on ya if you weren't paying attention to the signs of it weakening.
Pretty sure in default you cant lock your keys in, but have seen some people actually want to be able to, asking how to disable. They want to leave them in for their own various reasons.

To each there own. If it had a keypad delete option on the order, I would have deleted it.

I have but I use it mainly as I vacuum my vehicles out once a week so it’s nice to not have to get the keys when I’m already outside.

My last truck was a ram 3500 dually and I know what you're talking about......when I first got this truck I thought there was a switch or an adjustment I was missing....interior lighting was the first and pretty much only dislike I have....

My ‘22 Platinum is Job 2 and came with ambient lighting except for the front doors. I added lighting to the forward cup holders, center console storage, and glove box.
That is odd that the ambient lighting was not included for the front doors, my truck has it there. I do have a light for the inside of the center console storage area, but no glovebox light and no light for the cupholder area. Luckily, the interior has just enough background lighting that I can sort of see the cupholders and media bin area. I do like how we can still adjust the brightness level of the ambient lighting, or turn it off completely.

It seems like each model year and trim level of truck has its own combination of interior lighting. There even seems to be differences between job 1 and 2 trucks.

I should correct my previous comment. I have ambient lighting in the front doors storage pocket, just below the handle. What is missing is lighting of the lower door storage pockets. Maybe the 21 guys can confirm if it was available on their trim levels.

Can you give me a list of part numbers. Trying to light up my cup holders, media tray and glove box. Harness numbers would be great too.

I have a 11 16 and a 22 f150 all high end with high packages. While I miss the mood lighting in my 22 the entry light is far inferior to my other models. Especially in the rear seat area.
There is no footwell lighting at all.
