I need help. I have everything to do the swap. I can takeoff the two side trim pieces. But I am really struggling to get the main trim piece off that includes the cupholders. Where it is clipped in to the dashboard up under the AC controls, I cannot seem to get it out. Does anybody have any tips?

I have watched this video at least 20 times. I'm about ready to give up. No amount of force or prying will help me get the trim off. The two side pieces of trim pop off easily. The horizontal piece that surrounds the cupholders and the existing shifter will not come off. Please tell me someone has a better way of doing this.

In my case I removed the AC control panel and it gives you space to remove the cup holder panel ..

I have a 24 raptor and before I knew this isn’t really comparable with the 24+ I gave it a try.
Good news..it works, it shifts gears and does everything it’s supposed to.
bad news…it throws a wrench code saying service shifter and hill start assist not available.

Which is what led me here. Guessing the code is from the tron garbage. Any work around to get rid of the code?

well my battery died from that, oops shoulda read more. I ordered the 25 maverick shifter since I read on here it has tron. Bad news it won’t work either. The plug design is different

After reading 37 pages, I figured the same question being posted for the 20th time wouldn't hurt anything.

Here is a new question that I didn't see previously. Has anyone had a failure with a new or used rotary knob.....or read about any failures in the other platforms? I don't expect 0% chance of failure, but I would assume its less prone to failure due to a minuscule amount of moving parts, compared to the folding setup.

I'm sure my 2021 folding shifter is on borrowed time, this will be my next mod.

Working like a charm since day one. No failure No codes. Installed new 2022 Expedition shifter. Best Mode I did in the last 4 years.

Just got mine in ABS from Minion Makes on Etsy. I ordered the 2023 Expedition shifter with the shift modes. I ordered the piece from Minion on September 10th and received today, so it was quite a wait. But that's fine with me as long as the fit and product is good. Just a casual warning for those that are anxious to get the install complete.

I sanded it and painted it. Now it's drying. While I wait for it to dry, I pulled all the plastic trim off and disconnected the current shifter and plugged the new dial in. Then did a test drive around the block. Everything works, neutral, shift mode, even the automatic to park if you turn the car off or try to get out of the seat while the car is still in drive.

I'll follow up when I've completed the installation. So far, so good.

I just did semi gloss black. But I think I should have done Satin. Oh well, it's easy enough to take off if I change my mind later. It only took about 10mins to uninstall.

Does anyone know of a rotary knob that has shift buttons, and also just shows the shift position with the light.

I’d prefer to have no electronic moving piece if possible……but it looks like the Expedition version is the only one that I’ve seen that comes with the shift up/down function.

I ordered the NL1Z-7P155-B 2022-2024 Expedition for my 2023 F150 ICE. Everything works, manual shifting, neutral and even the auto-shift to park when you turn the motor off or jump out of the seat. I ordered from Sunshine Ford. Also, they asked for VIN which I don't have an expedition Vin so they refused to warranty it. Not a big deal for me, but it's worth noting.

I just finished the installation. There were some small-fit issues. The shift buttons were sticky after I installed, so I had to take out a few times and do some light sanding around the edges. Overall, if it goes well, it's about a 20min install. Really simple.

I ordered the recessed 3D print from Manion Makes on Etsy in ABS. He included mounting screws for the shifter, which was a nice surprise. Don't strip them!

I first spray-painted with black semi gloss, don't do this. Get FLAT or MATTE BLACK. The first coat in Semi caused some unevenness in the coat. Which you can see in my photos.
