Funny thing is my Dad has had 3 F150's and now has a '24 Expedition Max, and he really misses the shifter. I want the dial. I wish we could swap directly!

Probably, but the only way to know for sure is to try.Do you think this model will work also:

You mean like the one we showed off in post #83?But I wanted to slap a vote in here for a vertical phone dock/Qi charging hole option, either in front of the shifter, or behind it, rather than another cupholder.
Do them both at the same time.Quick question too - if I was considering doing the lighted cupholder mod, is the amount of disassembly much more than what would have to be done for the shifter? I.e. best to wait and do both at the same time? Or really not much time savings?
Ahh, I did not realize that's what I was looking at there. In fact I thought you were just sharing the mockup of the interface of the Expedition knob/tabs.You mean like the one we showed off in post #83?

hold up...will the expedition one swap over?Yes. The only way to avoid it would be to swap the entire expedition console, but then you would hvae duplicate drive mode and 4x4 selector switches that wouldn't work.
Obviously no one has documented trying it yet. But I own an F150 and I'm driving a rental expedition this week, it looks like it should swap over.hold up...will the expedition one swap over?
Also, wonder if you can use this...

obviously ignore the switch in pic and use the correct one...but its got a cubby between that and the parking brake. the cool thing would be to maybe 3d print something to fill in where the parking brake button goes or a blank...![]()
I should talk to my Dad, he would prefer the shifter and I the knob, maybe he will let me swap with his brand new Expedition (doubt it but maybe!).Obviously no one has documented trying it yet. But I own an F150 and I'm driving a rental expedition this week, it looks like it should swap over.

So that explains how you are testing out new designs lol!Obviously no one has documented trying it yet. But I own an F150 and I'm driving a rental expedition this week, it looks like it should swap over.
The one you have a picture of there looks like the console that goes with the big 15" vertical screen. I'd look for one to go with the 12" screen.

Just test the whole swap before you send it back lol!
For trim tools you would only need one plastic non marring pry tool. A windshield trim tool would even work. Other than that you only need a 7mm, and 10mm. The rest is all just plugging and unplugging of harnesses.Dumb question, but does anyone have a link to what trim needs to pulled to remove/replace the shifter? And also some proper trim removal tools to do the job? I have lots of tools, the one thing I am lacking are good trim removal tools. Rather not jab in there with screwdrivers and such and mar the plastics.
Unfortunately hes a couple hours drive away. He has the 15" screen too, now that I think about it.At the very least maybe he will at least let you disassemble and compare parts for the swap. Does he have the 15" APIM screen or the 12"?
i wish i had disposable money or i'd just buy stuff and try it out. i doubt any junkyards have anything this new lying around either.Obviously no one has documented trying it yet. But I own an F150 and I'm driving a rental expedition this week, it looks like it should swap over.

My wife has the 15" in her expedition but i am not sure there is a difference between the 12" and 15" expeditions center console. The only difference i see is the 15" has a door that covers the cup holders. (2024 anyway) Looks like you would have to swap the shifter and the top bezel.Unfortunately hes a couple hours drive away. He has the 15" screen too, now that I think about it.
