Flare shifting 3to4

I'm having a shifting flare when coming out of 3rd gear accelerating normally. After I shut the truck off and let it sit then restart it it happens !! went to ford dealer they performed a main control break in routine on A,C,D AND F clutches . When I got it back was good . now couple hundred miles later its starting doing it again. Did anyone have this issue and did Ford ever fix it and what did they do?????? i have 3400 mile on tran This is a second truck I just bought and it has an issue with the transmission. Different issue but an issue . thanks any help is appreciate

My 19 had the same problem when the transmission was cold after it warmed up it shifted normally

Mine does this crap as well as not every time but usually in the afternoon leaving work. It’s bizarre because if it sits overnight it doesn’t do it but for a few hours during the day and bam.

like everything else they try to make something simple more complicated .. Transmissions were very basic and more reliable back in the day I believe !Or Ford has no idea what the hell they're doing

I got rid of my 2022 F150. Ford bought it back A lemon . .Now I bought a new truck from Ford.
didn't learn my lesson with the old one I shouldn't have bought this one either

25 with a 3.5 that also has a flare during the 3-4 shift. Almost like it’s 2 gears. Depending in throttle it’s noticeable or not. WOT it’s not there. If I’m easing off the gas when approaching desired speed it’s not noticeable. Most noticeable under moderate throttle. Any chance this is expected?

Oddly enough, it doesn’t do this in tow mode. BUT there is a flare during the 2-3 shift in tow mode. Makes me think this software related.

My 19 had a 3-4 flare but it was different. More of a delay with rpms just kind of hanging. On the 25 rpms jump a bit then drop down and the actual engaging is more abrupt.

Flare usually refers to a vehicle going into neutral between gears not directly into the next gear. So engine revs up until it slams into the next gear with a torque induced monstrous crash.

When was your 22 built? They incorporated improvements in August of that year to make the box better. But most of that was to reduce the down shifting slams.....

Do you get the flare if you switch from normal mode to Tow/Haul? Try it tonight if you can on your way home. My own experience with this transmission is that it operates perfectly for weeks or months then something triggers a few days of bad down shifts until everything settles down again. I suspect whatever debris in in the system ultimately gets caught in the filter and taken out of the flow.

People talking about the valve body are' based on my experience with Volvo and auto tranny flare' on the right path. After issuing a lemon law letter, Volvo offered and I accepted a further repair involving transmission removal and partial disassembly. When they did that, they discovered the VB wasn't correctly installed so it couldn't do its job.
