Looking for comforting vehicle to tow an RV
Hi all,

I just completed the first oil change at about 5k miles on my 2025 F150 Powerboost. When I pulled the plug to drain the oil, I noticed a bright green fluid came out first and then all the oil. My first thought was antifreeze but - the actual antifreeze is a yellow color...this was a bright fluorescent green and oil has a higher density than water/antifreeze so any antifreeze would collect on the top and come out later I did some searching and apparently sometimes Ford puts a green dye material in with the oil during the manufacturing step to track any potential leaks during quality checks. This must be it. The truck runs fine. Anyone else seen this?

I didn’t have that but your theory sound logical. I’m assuming your antifreeze level is at the Max line, although even that won’t prove anything if it isn’t because they don’t necessarily fill it to full at the factory and dealers don’t necessarily top it either on delivery. Sometimes there is an air bubble too and the level goes down. But if it is at the Max line then it was certainly NOT antifreeze in your oil.

Interesting... I haven't heard of a green fluid in the oil. What you wrote about oil and water is bakwards oil will always float on top of water/antifreeze and will be the first thing to come out of the oil drain. I would also think if it was antifreeze the oil would also be milky.

Was all of the oil you drained greenish colored?

Did you save it? You can send it off for oil analysis (Blackstone).
This is yet another reason to do that first oil change super early on a new engine . Just saying...
Get that crap outta there.
