It’s been a week without my truck, and I’m definitely going through withdrawals.
I brought it into the dealer for a few minor issues:
  • A sticking turn signal stalk
  • A vibration coming from the top rear of the driver-side door at around 78 mph
  • Static from the radio
But the issue that’s holding everything up is this weird sensor problem. When I shift into reverse, I often get a red warning from the rear right sensor like I’m about to hit something. It’s intermittent, but it happens frequently—mostly in the rear right, and sometimes even the front right. Once I move the truck a foot or so, the warning goes away and everything works normally.
The dealer says they can’t reproduce the issue. Last week, they mentioned there were some stored codes, but unless they can recreate the problem and pull real-time data, Ford won’t approve throwing parts at it. Basically, if they can't see it happen in person, they won’t do anything.
So now I’m stuck picking the truck up without that problem fixed.
Has anyone else seen this happen? It wouldn’t be so frustrating if the dealer wasn’t an hour away...
On the plus side: they gave me a 2025 Explorer with just 84 miles on it as a loaner. So there's that!

I get that false alert occasionally on my '24. Absolutely nothing around me.
I've been ignoring it ;)

I'd be very interested in what the fix was for the "vibration coming from the top rear of the driver-side door" as I have the same issue. If I press on the glass, it stops. Like you, only at high speeds or when I have strong crosswind.

Since it's happening on the corner it sounds like you may have a flaky parking sensor or loose connection. If so they aren't too expensive at about $45.

Do you know what codes they found? I recently took mine in for the rear axle recall and to replace the bed camera. While in they also found persistent B1252E and B1518 DTC codes. Ended up updating the IPMA and PSCM modules and recalibrating the BLISS and 360 cams to fix it. In the process they inadvertently ended up fixing the rear auto brake feature which hadn't ever worked since day one. ?
