I think you're missing the point. All I'm expecting from all parties involved is COMMUNICATION ! Production schedules change, supply lines change, dealerships change. Durning all of this you have a customer out there waiting delivery of a vehicle all parties stated they would supply. I'm sure most customers would understand and if the delays didn't suit their plans they would cancel and expected order and move on. You call a cab and they say they will pick up at such a time to get you to the airport, then never show up someone is going top be upset.

I'm not missing the point.

As I already said, you had/have NO agreement with Ford Motor Company, so being upset with them makes no sense.

Your beef (and your agreement) was with the (now defunct) dealership. Most dealerships are independently owned and operated. An agreement with them is not an agreement with Ford Motor Company. For all they know, that dealership could have lied to you.

No compensation expected as no money changed hands. Maybe I'm old school, but when I tell someone I am going to do something I either do it or explain why I cannot do as I promised. The selling dealership only processed my buy order to Ford who then informed me they had my request and would keep me updated as to a build and future delivery date I feel the selling dealership should have informed all customers who had pending orders that they had been purchased by another dealer and their orders were still valid and in the system. I also feel the new dealer should have informed all customers with pending orders of the new status and contact information. And lastly Ford who notified me after they received my order in March that they would continue to keep me updated which they only did twice thru the end of September could have at the very least gave some indication of production delays and at the very least informed me when they cancelled the order.

It's just good common business sense to keep all parties informed. I would never recommend Ford Motor Company to anyone again, although there are some very good dealerships out here who have been very helpful with my reorder of a 2025 King Ranch.
I feel for you and I agree that you got crappy communication and everything else from the dealer but, this dealer has been sold so I suggest you just move on from this deal and find a more reputable and dependable dealer. I am not sure Ford has much to do with this as you really don't know what transpired betwen the dealer and Ford.

First off, welcome to the forum. Most of us are very friendly and offer suggestions and insight without being aggressive.
I am sorry about what transpired.
I do agree with you that having an order number and the light at the end of the tunnel collapsing sucks.
There are a lot of unknowns with the previous dealership. Maybe they lost credibility with Ford corporate and that's why they had to sell out. Maybe they had too many complaints like your scenario and Ford corporate had enough.
You have a few options available to you. Check Cars.com, cargurus.com and other national advertisers and see if you can find your truck already built and ready to go. Secondly put in an order with the current dealership you have had good luck with and maybe ask if they could somehow request an expedited build and delivery based on your recent situation.
Sorry man.

I'm sorry you got balled up in a situation like this -- particularly given your long history with Ford. I think it's mostly due to bad timing, getting caught in the sale of the old dealership. In any case, like you, I've been buying Ford products for a very long time. I have a 2024 KR and it's the best vehicle I've ever owned. I hope you can work this out and get your KR -- my bet is you won't be disappointed.
Good luck

Some of us don't try to give people false hope and, instead, provide accurate, actionable information that is, sometimes, brutally honest. If you consider that "aggressive", all I can say is the real world doesn't include self-care suites complete with milk & cookies, hot cocoa, Lego toys, and coloring and mindfulness exercises. Sorry.

He got a raw deal from a piss poor dealership that went belly up. His only option is to move on to another dealership, whether it's Ford or another brand. Ford Motor Company isn't to blame for anything.

That's all well and good but this guy is new to the forum this is his first post ever and calculating his age with information provided he's somewhere between 72 and 75 years old? Maybe even older.
Pretty safe to assume this guy isn't worried about safe spaces or hot cocoa. Probably busted more knuckles in his lifetime than you and I have seen together.
I do however try to have Grace with people that aren't familiar with today's technology, whether it be ordering a new truck or getting their cell phone to work or whatever. Brutally honest is a cool catch phrase but can also catch a person off guard and make them never want to return here again.

I wouldn't count on him busting more knuckles than us. You don't know how old I am. ?

Beyond that, we were not talking about new technology. We were talking about business and contract law. That's pretty standard going back to Henry Ford. ?

But I do understand what you're saying.

The technology I was referring to was more along the lines of buying a new truck and using the internet to find his dream truck on Cars.com, CarFax.com and other websites that not many people are familiar with.

Cars.com currently has 694 brand new 2024 KRs on its site. I was thinking he might be able to find his specific truck without going through all this hassle again. (Not sure if that link will work or not)

Maybe I was annoying with calling the dealership, and contacting Ford, but the OP really went 3 months twice (March-June, June-Sept) without hearing anything or contacting anyone?

I mean, communication is a two way street.

You dealership is your point of contact for a retail order. Trying to ask Ford is largely meaningless. He shouldn't have let three months go by (twice) without contacting his salesperson.

The dealership that purchased my selling dealership has been very accommodating and has offered me a great price on a new 2025. They did not cancel my previous order as they were as surprised as I was that my 2024 order was not in the system. This cancellation was all on Ford whom I still have not heard from.

From what I have been told my purchasing dealership, a family owned business for many years and my local family owned Ford dealership did not meet Ford's monthly requirement for sales and so Ford informed them to either sell or Ford would pull the franchise.
