Thanks for the like @Snakebitten . Look at me all growed up and not shilling for the beloved PB regardless of scenario lol.
I did have to double glance to confirm it was YOU being all reasonable in the early AM. Are you OK? ?

BTW, I've never seen the hybrid do anything, contribute anything, over 40mph as regards passing, pulling a hill, or etc.
Here’s how the 2022 F-150 PowerBoost (3.5L Hybrid) stacks up against the 2022 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost at 3,000 RPM in terms of torque and horsepower:

2022 F-150 3.5L PowerBoost (Hybrid)
• Torque at 3,000 RPM: ~570 lb-ft (Peak: 570 lb-ft @ 3,000 RPM)
• Horsepower at 3,000 RPM: ~325 HP (Peak: 430 HP @ 6,000 RPM)

2022 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost (Non-Hybrid)
• Torque at 3,000 RPM: ~510 lb-ft (Peak: 500 lb-ft @ 3,100 RPM)
• Horsepower at 3,000 RPM: ~280 HP (Peak: 400 HP @ 6,000 RPM)

Key Differences at 3,000 RPM
• The PowerBoost hybrid delivers more torque at this RPM range (~570 lb-ft vs. ~510 lb-ft), which helps with towing, acceleration, and efficiency.
• The PowerBoost has about 45 more HP at 3,000 RPM due to its electric motor assist.
• Both engines make peak power higher in the RPM range, but the PowerBoost provides stronger mid-range performance thanks to the hybrid system.

So, at 3,000 RPM, your PowerBoost is the stronger performer, especially in torque delivery.

I picked 3000 RPM because I can’t remember ever needing more than that to pass.

The 3.5 by itself is a fine engine but it’s not better than a PB ever.

Edit: All but the last sentence I made ChatGPT 4 write up for me. It’s accurate even though I was being lazy.

See what a cup of coffee can do to get you going?

Much more yourself now. ??
He still shouldn’t buy a Limited PB for towing mpg though. I stand by that.

Was talking w/ a ford mechanic that had a PB but really wanted a different color truck so be bought a 5.0.

"man that thing could tow. I leave my house with my boat and have to climb a good hill and that hybrid would just go right up it. My 5.0 really has to get on it to get on up. I couldn't believe the difference"

Paraphrasing a good ole boy.

• Horsepower at 3,000 RPM: ~325 HP (Peak: 430 HP @ 6,000 RPM)

2022 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost (Non-Hybrid)
• Torque at 3,000 RPM: ~510 lb-ft (Peak: 500 lb-ft @ 3,100 RPM)
• Horsepower at 3,000 RPM: ~280 HP (Peak: 400 HP @ 6,000 RPM)

Key Differences at 3,000 RPM

I asked grok to grade/rewrite it 'more better' w/ accurate info. Enjoy

Grade: C+. The response gets the broad strokes right (PowerBoost has more torque and horsepower overall) but fumbles specifics at 3,000 RPM due to lack of precise data, minor errors in peak torque RPM for the EcoBoost, and an overly definitive tone unsupported by official figures.

Slight tangent... Is there any benefit to the 7.3 godzilla v8 in the Super Duty compared to if they slammed the PB powertrain into it instead ?

Engine braking and the NA motor having a generally easier life. A big NA V8 is just simpler vs a TTv6

If they do a healthy hybrid config with a decent battery, no need for the larger motor and they could move to "e-pto" using HV vs an actual PTO opening a new realm of capability that having HVDC can provide like electric compressors and inverter "generators". Bucket trucks would be still use a hydraulic system just electrically powered so the truck doesn't have to idle. Service trucks could lose 2 other gas/diesel engines entirely by not having dedicated compressors or generators.

Do you think they would actually create a Super Duty PB and if so, what do you think the most logical configuration would be to get let's say 7.2kw in one ?

yeah, they've teased it, but I don't recall seeing any specs. What would you guess they're going to do versus what you'd want them to do, or tell us both, haha :)
