Ford accessories with the 25% off and FRP from the gold certified purchase. Mine was scratched and damaged as well. There packing is pitiful. But it’s a skid plate so I am not going to deal with return shipping. I thought about reaching out for an additional discount but haven’t yet. Also I ordered on May 2nd and it was delivered May 7th. Crazy fast. I might have got lucky with that as well. I was expecting a back order notification.

I saw your thread and was expecting the same when I initially ordered my first skid plate. Luckily all 3 that I bought shipped in a timely manner

The packaging was horrible. If they would have wrapped the PTM part, and the two plastic side pieces in a bit more bubble wrap I wouldn't have had to start the return process on the two that I've ordered and received. I'm Frankensteining my package together, as you can go 14 days before actually shipping the packages back. I've went through the pieces that I have and set aside the parts that weren't damaged and will mail back a full kit of damaged parts. The only piece that I'm missing without damage is the piece that needs paint. Hopefully the one that arrives today will have that part without damage.

I'm going to paint my upper and do a once over on the plate after a quick sand. Took this plate as is to the paint store and did some color tests and sample comparisons. #2 is almost indistinguishable from the original ford silver ingot -- it has changed at least 3 times (he had all color samples). This is the back of the oil filter access plate, unprepped, just wiped with alcohol. I have 3 other silver metallics that were first tested elsewhere. Just shot the nickel satin on as acquired after testing the others. I have other metallics as well but they get much darker like gunmetal.

Included several angles due to color shift. Tape peeled some off as it's still fresh and un-prepped thus the random 1 within the spray area. Didn't actually spray in the middle area, that's mostly overspray. There's a slightly darker krylon fusion aluminum metallic, but I couldn't find it locally.

1 = as came (supposed to be silver ignot, is not), 2 = Behr Titanium Metallic, 3= Krylon Fusion Silver Metallic, 4 = Behr Nickel Satin Metallic.

Going w/ #2, here's the painted filter access on factory skid. Going to make sure the sanding was sufficient before doing the entire thing. The filter access is much easier to experiment with. A bit more metal flake in it and it's more gloss than factory finish

Metallic paint is hard to photo even playing with the lighting.

Tried various papers, the mesh style 400 grit w/ vac attached worked great for sanding. All other papers just 'gummed' up too quick. 400 grit mesh did exactly what I wanted it to on a 5" sander around speed 3.5. Not too much, not overly harsh, just perfect. This stuff - light years ahead of sandpaper! Disc still appears new after doing both sides. Couldn't get through half of one side before traditional paper was toast.

Both ends of the box was half or more open! I’m trying to see what part numbers I need for what I’m missing…
Looks like 2 black brackets and the RH Valence piece…anyone care to share the Part numbers!? I can reach out to ford accessories but not sure how much help they’ll be.
Also…it’s silver underneath

Mine is now silver as well, but it was completely plastic. Ford's parts site says the part number is paint to match. FWIW, if its condition was like mine and they painted it, it's not ready to paint. Lots of flashing from the molds left that'd result in paint coming off too easy. I sanded mine and then painted it.

well just that trim piece we're talking about was $300 when I checked last week. Did you compare your pieces to what the instructions say you should have? My box was opened and the nuts/bolts bag was half hanging out, everything accounted for though.

I would think I’d have the RH valence piece if I got a LH one…do you have your pieces around? Or did you already install?
