Thats crazy. My 21 XLT 302 has box link, and bed lighting standard
Yeah I’m a bit confused by this. My MY22 order sheet for my XLT (I know, I don’t belong here) from October 1 has boxlink and led bed lighting listed as line items without the bed utility package. If it’s on the order sheet it has to still be included, right?

Edit: just checked the screenshot of WBDO I got from my dealer when I got my build day and they’re listed there too.

Happy New ear!

I took delivery of my 2022 Lariat 502a on Christmas Eve.

Much to my disappointment, it did not come with the bedlighting. Sadly, this was one of the reasons I upgraded to a Lariat.

Anyone know hos difficult this would be to add?
Were led box lighting or boxlink listed on your order sheet?

That was my same dilemma. Didn't want the payload hit because of the power tailgate, so now it's just a normal truck bed, with an outlet that can charge a cellphone... Until they remove that feature to save money...

Yep.
For ‘21, BoxLink & Bed Lighting we’re included on XLT 302A (High) and standard on Lariat trims.

Not listed on my ‘22 Lariat build, dated 12/23/21. Unfortunate for me.

Yup,
Us 22 owners are paying much more but getting less. Go figure. I do a lot of loading up at night and those little led lights came in handy. Oh well, it is what it is. Just imagine what the 23's won't have. Then again, the 23's may come standard with much more to make up for the 22 owners getting hosed. As long as my truck doesn't have any issues, I'll be happy.

Maybe someone can tweet to Jim Carey asking this. I’m sure there will be some explaining the price to allocate the chips…Farley. My bad lol

That sure sucks. Back in February of '21 I was thinking of ordering a '22 when one could. But when I looked at what the '21's had to offer, I could not wait and ordered in March a week after my '19 was two years old. Sure happy I did order and wait 18 weeks for the truck. Those box lights are very useful.

Dropped off at USPS today: My complaint letter to Ford Customer Relations about the loss of bed lighting on the 2022 Lariat F-150. Change only occurs when you let them know how you feel.

The removal of the bed lighting from the '22 F-150 is frustrating because it's combined with 'zone lighting' for the 2021 F-150: "LED cargo box lighting with Zone Lighting," optional on an XLT, standard on higher trims. Re-reading the 11/3/21 Order Guide for the 2022 F-150 though (pissed I missed this), it does differentiate the two under the Bed Utility Package (68L): "LED Box Lighting" and "Zone Lighting (already std on XLT (302A), Lariat, . . . "

For the 2021 F-150, "BoxLink with 4 premium locking cleats" is standard on the Lariat and above; for the 2022 F-150, per the 11/3/21 Order Guide, it's part of the Bed Utility Package (68L) as well.

To add BoxLink post delivery: Standard Interface Plate Kit
- Part No: FL3Z9928408AB
- $50 (+$10 installation).
- I think this includes 4x cleats

Premium Carbon Black Cleats (4x)
- Part No: HL3Z99000A64A
- $90

F-150 2021-2022 Bed Cargo Illumination Kit
- Not listed as a Ford accessory on their website.
- Not sure if the 2018-2020 Illumination Kit would work.
--- Part No: JL3Z13E754A. $215 (+$100 installation).

So, in summary, I specifically chose not to get the Bed Utility package (68L) on my Lariat because I didn't want the power tailgate (payload weight hit on my PowerBoost, plus it's overkill - the tailgate is light as hell) . . . now I'm going to end up paying half the price of the Bed Utility package anyway (but no tailgate work surface, no power tailgate, no tailgate step) simply to get some cleats and two LED lights. Not cool.
You can get all the boxlink parts on Amazon, pretty cheap actually.

tracking, thanks for making sure. The LED bed lighting is a bigger issue/concern.

Starkey Bed Lighting: Not for 2021’s after July or 2022’s yet. Also, as you stated, they don’t function like the OEM lights unfortunately. It’s a back-up option if necessary.
Looks like they're working on that, the last comment in the questions says to check back soon. Wonder what really changed in July - trucks built before that date don't have headlights that the IIHS recommends.
