Lariat Lounge is where it’s at, for sure. Just one request:

I need you guys to tell me it’s not worth upgrading my order to the 502a from 501 just for a heated steering wheel...
Isn't that some next-level packaging horse-hockey on Ford's part? When I got a 2017 cloth-seat Explorer XLT, a heated wheel was just a $175 standalone option. Now you've got to go up to a Lariat and then order the highest option package, if you want a heated wheel. Hey Ford, right here, pal!

2022 F 150 Lariat (on order)
Hey all! I’ve got a 22 lariat 502a on order due in the week of 1/9! Looking to confirm something I haven’t been able to locate.
Does anyone have a 22 WITHOUT the bed utility package? If so, do you have the led bed lights?? I thought that was standard for 2021.
Thanks!
I have a 22 Platinum (over 60K before an options) and the led bed lights are now an option. It's in the "bed utility package" for $695. All these little things being taking away that were standard in 21, is making me want to cancel my order and get a Lariat mid or high.

I hope not, my 501A Lariat is due any day now, I'll let you know if I get the bed lights. I couldn't find any mention of bed lights in the 22 order guide, but NadaGuides has the 22 pricing, and LED box lights are not listed in the Bed Utility Package (BUP) there, hopefully that's a good sign. They are specifically listed in the 302A XLT package.
Ford F-150 ? F-150 LARIAT Lounge ? 1640882178424

However, bed lighting is listed in the BUP on the window sticker on a '22 video I found: Here's a night review

Other items confirmed missing are no led rings on the cupholders, led missing from front storage box & glove box, temp moved from knob to display, no shut-off dial at the bottom of the vents (can shut off by moving all the way to the left, but looks like a partial-on ability is gone), boxlink (no biggy, can get on Amazon for $40), and license plate lights are no longer LED (just odd).

One new add: 502A's are getting front parking sensors, no longer need to get Active Assist. Looks like active assist went up $500, too...

Are you sure? I'm looking at the options guide and it looks like you still need to get this in order to get front parking sensors: Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 (req. 360-Degree Camera Pkg (763) or Tow Technology Pkg (17T)) • BlueCruise • Active Park Assist 2.0 Note: Includes Forward Sensing System. Maybe I'm just reading wrong but I'm pretty sure it's an option standard Platinum trim. Ford Co-Pilot360™ Assist 2.0 • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control – Stop-and-Go – Lane Centering – Speed Sign Recognition • Evasive Steering Assist • Intersection Assist • Connected Built-In Navigation1 Note: Forward Sensing System not included, this is from the 502A's page.

........so in a few years the engine start handcrank will be sticking out of the front grille when electric start is part of the "Plutonium" package and optional on all others. Going to make start/stop function kindof labor intensive at every stoplight......lol......

I know, it doesn't agree with the order guide, but the truck in the vid as well as in the 11/29 build week forum who posted pics of their 22's have them. They only have the sensors in the front of the bumpers, the ones with adaptive have them on the side of the bumpers also. I might have put more thought into moving up to 502A if I knew this. It never made sense that it was missing on the 502's in the first place.

Yeah, makes it kind of hard to order when things in print differ than the actual truck. Also, try getting a platinum like myself (standard) and having less options than a 502A lol. Not sure massaging seats and running boards are really worth the extra $$$.

Well, I had a Platinum 3.5, 4x4, BAP in standard. I had very few options (bigger fuel tank, start white, tray liners, and bed utility package. All told it was $68,715. As I read of a few little things Ford was removing, I said screw it and cancelled my order and went with a Lariat. Below is what I ordered yesterday. Note, Lariat trim goes up to $49,000 (old $47,405) and the 502A goes up to $7065 (old $6920). Basically, paid over $1700 for nothing. Hate to see the prices going up and actually getting less features. On the plus side, I'm getting X-plan so that's not too bad. All in all, not sure the platinum was worth the extra money for the options I was getting.

So my sales rep from the dealer emailed me back yesterday that she had not responded to me because she has been out with COVID but my truck has a build date now. She did not disclose the build date, but letting me know that it has one and not knowing the actual date is killing me ?. I was nice and wished her well and left it at that. COVID is a serious thing, I had it myself but dang… Oh well, what’s a few more days of waiting for that small detail. Just had to vent to someone who would understand (ha ha)!

Happy New ear!

I took delivery of my 2022 Lariat 502a on Christmas Eve.

Much to my disappointment, it did not come with the bedlighting. Sadly, this was one of the reasons I upgraded to a Lariat.

Anyone know hos difficult this would be to add?

I was really hoping this wasn't the case. I was told that you need to order the bed utility package, yet a few on here said it was necessary with the 502A. Hard to believe that the 502A doesn't come with stupid LED lights in the bed. At least it's standard on the Limited lol. I've always love Ford for giving us features in lower trim's that the other truck makers don't. Sad to see that they are going this route. I know they are just stupid little lights in the bed of the truck but some of us use them all the time. However, Ford wants you to get the bed utility package in order to get these lights. $695 isn't exactly cheap. I'm sure the "chip shortage" is the reason Ford is taking off some of the things they had on last year's truck and charging over $1,000 more. I'm willing to bed the truck is pre-wired. Just seems like a pain to add them when it doesn't take much from Ford to do so. Let's not forget Ford doesn't even put wheel liners on these trucks, wtf lol. That being said, I can't wait to get my dream truck in 4-6 months!
