Waiting on parts would be far less frustrating if Ford or their dealer network had a work around while waiting for parts. The fact that they cannot or will not have temporary fix will only lose customers. The powerboost I have is the best vehicle I have owned to this point but the service from ford’s dealer's will make me question owning another ford.There's some reports that the overheating alert and subsequent derating of the motor torque is not indicative of the actual coolant temps.
In other words, the truck really isn't overheating, but it will respond to the programming as if it is.
I don't know how true that is, but it kinda makes sense because the faulty servo valve signal is what triggers the response, rather than the coolant temp sensors themselves.
Or at least that's one scenario that has been reported. Regardless, the truck can't be operated normally, as a result. It's a lousy situation for sure.
