I replaced mine on my 21 powerboost with a skid plate from Talons garage. I was concerned because the transmission pan is plastic and the skid plate makes it tougher for theft of the cats as well.
Are you sure the original leak was the cover? Mine had a small leak and it was the pinion seal. Over time the underside of the diff was wet from the cover to the pinion. I would wipe it off and after next drive check to see where leak actually is.

Canadian as well with the same issue. I found if you log on to ford.com (not ford.ca) you can enter your maintenance under service history tab and it will show on the ford pass app
