Thanks for the info. Any updates on your truck? Still no incidences of the loud noise again? Also, forgive my ignorance, but do non Powerboost trucks also have an auxiliary battery?Truck came back today. New auxiliary battery installed and they reprogrammed my APIM. The APIM reprogramming also got me full screen CarPlay. Hopefully this does the trick.
I believe all F150s after 2016 have the aux battery. No issues with my truck since that service visit. It’s been about 1500 miles of use since the. Thanks for the info. Any updates on your truck? Changing sources did not clear it up for me. I had to turn off the truck and let it sit for 10 minutes to reboot the system.Question, does anyone have an aftermarket stereo upgrade that this has happened too?
Knock on wood, we have not had any of our clients report back with this issue, but want to know as much as we can so that if it does happen, we know a fix.
My vote on this issue is a voltage spike causing the factory amplifier to lose the "sync" to the factory ACM/ Radio and it's unable to sync back up until a complete reboot of the system.
The factory radio sync happens immediately after you click unlock and only needs to sync once until the truck is fully asleep/locked/shut down. If it loses this sync, weird things can happen. Also, I wonder as you change sources, does the ACM + Amplifier re-sync, that would explain customers changing sources and it fixes the issue.
Got it, still want to know if anyone has upgraded the stereo with an interface like the ZEN A2B that is experiencing this issue.Changing sources did not clear it up for me. I had to turn off the truck and let it sit for 10 minutes to reboot the system.
In my case, I was listening to FM at the time and attempted to switch to Satellite - did not abate or stop the sound. The volume control was useless. The only thing that stopped it was turning off the truck entirely. My first attempt to restart was too soon - the the truck had no audio at all - no sound for the chime at the start, no volume for the B&O system or prompt audio. Completely gone. I turned it off again and got out locked the doors. Came back after five minutes and upon restart everything was normal again. It's happened to me twice. Ford opened a case and stated that they would look into it. Nothing from Ford as of yet. What I did that cleared this up was, both times I was listening to satellite radio. If you switch from satellite to either FM or AM radio and back to satellite the noise popping sounds would disappear and the music resumed. I don't what the issue is, but this definitely helped. Hopefully Ford will come up with a more practical solutions so it NEVER happens again. BTW, I have a 2022 F150 Platinum with 3k miles.
Well after 4 months with no loud explosions on start up from the radio, thinking it might have been addressed from an update, it happened Sunday morning. I had updates the last two or thee days in a row. What did they do to screw it up. Time to call the dealer and wait 6 weeks to get in again.Happened to me this morning. I have upgraded to 3.5.3.2. Loud series of pops, then no sound. Restarted and cleared up.
Regular 8-Speaker B&OFor those that have had this happen, do the sounds come out of every speaker? Specially, does the sound come from the rear speakers too? Apparently not all speakers are controlled from the same sources. @SoundsGoodStereo, can you share which speakers are controlled by what system? Maybe we can start to isolate the issue if we know which speakers are making the loud static sound?
I have only heard of this with the Unleashed system. I would interested in the answer to whether the regular B&O is affected, because I would be more than glad to get a 600a KR, which does not have the Unleashed. Pretty sure all Platinums have it.For those that have had this happen, do the sounds come out of every speaker? Specifically, does the sound come from the rear door speakers as well? Also, if we can find out if this ONLY affects Unleashed systems or standard B&O systems too, that might help us narrow it down.
Can anyone who’s had this happen chime in? ?
