Update on fix. Software update about a month ago. Hasn't exploded yet but has rebooted itself 3 times now in the first 2 minutes of being turned on. Not quite done with the software rewrites. Hopefully this doesn't continue. Forgot that I wasn't able to turn on the radio when I picked it up from...
There is a software fix, that I received a couple of weeks ago. So far so good. But it only happens to me every couple of months apart. So only time will tell. I have a company van, so my truck doesn't get used as a daily driver.
I received a call Thursday from the dealer. Ford has contacted them telling me they believe they have a fix for my radio issue. It's a very extensive software update, and they need my truck for the whole day. Could take 8hrs to fix. Sounds a little questionable, but I will give it a shot...
have this issue and now the heat exchanger water leak. The most I have ever spent on a vehicle, and the most issues I have ever had with a new one. Truck is now at the dealership for at least 1-month waiting for the heat exchanger. My dealership is providing me with a truck, so that is good. Big...
Well after 4 months with no loud explosions on start up from the radio, thinking it might have been addressed from an update, it happened Sunday morning. I had updates the last two or thee days in a row. What did they do to screw it up. Time to call the dealer and wait 6 weeks to get in again...
I sure hope that solves it. Waiting for mine to do it again. I had mine into the dealer 3 weeks ago. They just recorded the problem but haven't done anything yet. I waited 6 weeks just to get that.
I have the same rig and system. My loud bang happens on start up. 4 or 5 times now. Taking my truck in the end of next month to get checked out. Hopefully they learn something before then, or they probably have no chance in figuring it out.
I am having a similar issue. But in my case, it's a large explosion from the radio threw the speakers at start up. I'm scheduled to go in the day after Thanksgiving. They tell me if they can't reproduce the problem Ford will not pay them for warranty call. This sucks, because it happens so...
I have scheduled an appointment with Kendall Ford of Marysville, Washington State. November 25th is the soonest they can get me in. Hopefully we can come up with a way for them to check it out by then. Otherwise, it will be a wasted trip.

Radio pops so loud at start up I need to change my pants. It happens every 4 weeks or so. At 3,800 miles. I haven't been able to figure out anything that I am doing differently that might help figure this out. It has happened about 5 times now. Takes the radio a while...
