My coworker has a Lightning, I don't know if I want all the updates he got recently. One created several issues with the APIM and he lost most controls for a day until the next update fixed things. I'm fine with the Lightning & Mach-E being the guinea pigs before they roll them out to the F-150. We've already seen they can screw things up with the BCM, we don't need any more problems.

With the help of Jesse, my friends at the dealership successfully force updated my '21 job-1 Limited to gain blue cruise and everything else.

@Jesse-Infotainment gave me a specific order of updates to do and the tech followed them to a T.

The tech said that was the fastest he's ever successfully updated any of the newer vehicles and applauded Jesse's info.

Now that my Mongoose adapter showed up today as well I'll still get it all set up and tinker with it.

Given that numerous dealerships loathe the informed consumer, this one seems like an anomaly and welcomes feedback. Would it be worthwhile calling them out for others to benefit from?

This forum has already provided the collective, that's us!, with a few great dealership options for purchasing our trucks while not being MSRP'd or worse.

Why not the same for any and all service departments that are a safe place to leave your keys?

Kinda like an Angie's list for FDRS capable service departments?
Every state needs at least one on the list.

The BCM update is safe now. The update was calling for one wrong file for the power boost.

That being said the BCM update is in conjunction with a wiring update for the tailgate issue. The tailgate issue is only for Power Release. Those with power release and power close are not affected. The update changes the opening strategy from inside the truck to two presses within 3 seconds versus one press.

The wiring change is pretty significant. Ford has released a wire upgrade kit for it but they add a relay to isolate the BCM. The wiring is ran from theBCM in the passenger kick all the way to the handle. There are numerous connectors the tech will have to pin. This will be a disaster I am betting.

Anyone that decides to go in be prepared for a long job and potential issues afterwards. I even saw in some situations a 2"hole saw is required. Im glad I upgraded to power open and close.

I have power release and power close, but the errant BCM update *did* show up for my truck too.

It shows for all its only addressing an issue for the power release. Trying to explain whats for.

Just got my Job 1 PB back from the dealership after several messages like powertrain malfunction and throwing codes. The tech performed a couple TSB's including 22-2186 and 22-2121 (and more?). If someone would be so kind to tell me what modules still need updating? Thanks in advance.

Thanks - that was a fast response. Pretty impressed by the service I received by the dealership. The truck does seem to go into and stay in hybrid mode longer, but maybe that's just because I haven't driven it in a couple days.
