I won't deny it, they're nice. I have 2 but the o/s kitchen has the cams. You can retrofit them but meh. I just replaced it, so that it was keyed to the others.

You can tweak the cams, to fit more snuggly, it that is what is bothering you.

A lot of people like the touch pad locks.

I didn't bother, because the batteries run out and the pad panels wear out but none the less, some people think they're must haves. At least on the entry door.

If you go that way, wait to do anything with you cargo locks and maybe you can get them keyed to that.
I like the touch pads they're nice to have so you don't have to always have a key with you always. Especially useful when swimming or other things where having lots of different things on you is inconvenient.

Touchpads work with cam locks?

I’m thinking perhaps my tools should be stored in the coach rather than in the compartments

I do but not for the reason you're thinking. It just works out better, space and weight wise, to be under the rear dinette bench, than the o/s storage. Though I'd keep my electrical tools in there anyway, just for the better environment.

Never say never but I've never had anything messed with while camping. Campground, Ntl. Forest, BLM etc. and have been gone all day, more often than not and day after day. Unless you're going to have a toad, tools n such will be with you, wherever you go.

You can beef up those locks and I would. At least enough to assure a good solid seal and you can have them all keyed alike but as the saying goes, locks only keep honest people honest.

I get that but I know myself.

The first time the batteries were dead and I had to go for the hidey key anyway, it would piss me off more than having to carry one. Another good reason to have all the camper locks keyed alike. One little key ring.

On top of that, our door is glass. They don't have a good record of playing nice with the keypad locks.

Don't put it up too high on a pedestal.

I haven't encountered thieves and I believe that most people are decent but there are the occasional assholes.

And most of them, run generators
