Does anyone else other than myself have the dome light not come on when the door is opened? The light comes on with the overhead switches but not the door. 2021 XLT 302a

There is an interior light defeat switch in the switch console on the headliner (for most models). This prevents interior lights from coming on when the door(s) are opened.

If this is something that just started to occur 'for no reason', your 12v battery bus voltage is low. Ford won't actually put a proper charging voltage on the system. It instead trickle charges the 12v batteries at 12.85v.

Good luck reading the icons on those buttons.
Agreed. I’d just look for anything that’s lit yellow, all the light buttons should be lit blue if you want the interior lights on when the doors open.

Thanks BLoflin. I found the switch on the console and the dome light works now. For some reason I thought this yellow light was not a switch. It's a good thing I'm not a rocket surgeon.

Thanks for pointing out the yellow light. I thought that was a permanent light for something and not a switch.

I normally open the moonroof, turn on each side light, lock out the dome light, and hit every other button when trying to quickly find the dome light switch in the dark. Probably the worst design I've seen for a dome light.

I think I'm having the low bus voltage problem. My truck has been in the shop multiple times for rear dome lights not working and they finally resolved it with a battery replacement. About 6 months later it started acting up again. Do you know if there's any permanent solution?

I had same issue. I bought a bigger battery a H7 and an interstate brand. Also changed SOC to 90%. The stock ford battery is crap and a H6. Short drives the battery won’t charge enough. You can turn heat or ac on and turn the fan on high. This makes the system charge better.

Had similar problems and finally got rid of the truck for a 23 and no more problems

My lites are blue ,if i exit the truck the interior lights turn on.
But when open the door entering the the truck the lights don't turn on and were in the dark.
All this happened for no reason. We do get the power save slide bar when we turn the truck off
Were scheduled for a checkup this week!
Even the curtisy lights dont turn on all of the time even when its dark out, but then sometimes they work !!!!

(2021, 2.7L, 302A package) I had an intermittent issue with rear seat courtesy lights failing to come on when the doors were opened. Dealer diagnosed as a bad battery, but I was skeptical. I was surprised when that fixed it. Reading other forum posts, it seems that a low battery can cause different lighting issues. A few months after the battery replacement the issue returned. I charged the battery using an AGM battery charger. (Note: I first tried charging with a standard battery charger, but that did nothing). After fully charging the battery using an AGM charger the lights returned to normal operation. I think the issue I was having was definitely related to battery charge. Possibly, the vehicle charging system doesn't always fully "top off" the battery and a manual periodic full-charge is needed. It seems like this might be a common design flaw -- I have a Subaru that has well established electrical gremlins related to the computerized charging system regularly undercharging the Subaru's battery. Some speculate this is for fuel economy.

Separately, after an over the air update, my truck bed lights wouldn't come on. A user on this forum helped me diagnose that the update erroneously updated a field in the computer telling the truck to never turn on the truck bed lights. A simple update using the Forscan software fixed that problem.

My dealer is helpless with these issues. Hopefully, a battery charge is all that's needed for you. If they won't replace under warranty the AGM batteries are expensive. Good luck.
