I keep a pelican 1450 under the rear seat of my truck for my toolbox. This size fits perfectly allowing the rear seat lower all the way and doesn't stick out past the edge of the front lip. It also sits next to my orange Apache 3800 case (they both fit nicely under the larger section of the bench) that is home to my first aid kit.

In my toolbox I keep the following:
  • 3/8 Inch Drive 6-Point Socket Set with Rail, 19-Piece (6-24 mm)
    • No skips in sizes
  • 3/8 Inch Drive 6-Point Socket Set with Rail, 15-Piece (1/4-1 in.)
    • No skips in sizes
  • 3/8 Inch Drive x 8 Inch Ratchet
  • Masterforce 3/8" Drive Socket Extension Set -3 Piece
    • 3", 6", 10" Extensions
  • 8" Adjustable Wrench
  • 10" Adjustable Wrench
  • Adjustable Pliers
  • Needle Nose Pliers
    • With built in Wire Cutter
  • Zip Ties
    • Multiple sizes
  • Claw Hammer
  • Work Gloves
  • Masterforce Impact Drive Bit Set - 21 Piece
    • Torx, Philips, Square, and Flathead
  • Knipex 3 1/2" TwinKey Universal Control Cabinet Key
    • Doubles as driver handle for the Masterforce bits
  • Eklind Hex Wrench Set Metric
    • (I should probably replace the 7 piece set I have with a more comprehensive set)
  • Eklind Hex Wrench Set Standard
    • (I should probably replace the 7 piece set I have with a more comprehensive set)
  • 4-way Valve Stem Core Tool
  • Pro-Series Ultimate Tire Plug Kit
  • Colby Emergency Valve Stem Replacement Kit (2 vavle stems)
  • Tire Pressure Gauge
  • Mini Pick and Hook Set
  • 12" Carpenter Square
  • 40 Gram Rechargeable Silica Gel Canister
    • Keeps everything from rusting
Other Random Tools usually in my truck:
  • Pocket Knife
  • Multi Tool
  • Flashlight
  • Solid Chemical Fire Extingusher
  • 30-minute Road Flares
  • Hearing Protection

This is great - thanks for posting!

I have an unused Pelican case slightly larger - hoping it fits under the rear seat.

Three items I have in every vehicle. A 5-inch adjustable wrench to be able to disconnect the battery in the event of an electrical short. A fire extinguisher under a seat. A small container of radiator stop leak.

I have prevented two car fires by being able to quickly remove the positive battery lead on the vehicles. I had a truck with the radiator holed by a rock tossed up by a semi's tires and was having to add water at every freeway exit. At one gas station I found a radiator stop leak product and gave it a try. The stop leak was 100% effective and I drove that truck for another 100,000 miles with no need to do anything to the radiator.

Not in the emergency catagory but I also carry a breaker bar and a deep socket that fits the wheel lug nuts. Too often the tire guys over tighten the nuts with their air impact wrench and the factory provided lug wrench is not enough.
