I bought a set of Diode Dynamics ditch lights and they came with their own wiring that gives the option to use factory AUX pigtails. The wiring has a wired in relay since the standard application is to wire directly independent any other wiring and they supply the switch.

I have a desire to run each side on its own switch so I can have either right or left on independently. The options are to buy a whole ready made harness or wire using a plug it comes with. The plug it comes with are just three wires, no relay. Since the Superduty aux switch wiring has its own relay box for the aux panel, can I just wire the light up to that and call it good? I’m not versed on electrical other than knowing how to splice some wires. Don’t want to run into any issues that my lack of knowledge could be preventing me from seeing.

Added a picture of the lights with the amber backlighting going.

I spent the other night creating my wiring to go with the supplied deutsch 4 pin connectors. Used some braided loom and man that stuff is interesting to work with. Downside was all of the butt splices make it pretty thick in the same area so it doesn’t fit as well under the rubber cowl cover.

Now I can activate the right and left light independently of one another. Both are backlight to one switch. I also learned the Super Duty relays have higher fused connections than the Tremor/Raptor auxiliary switch so that’s a plus for not having the factory upfitters.

I used the wiring that came with it and an auxbeam controller.
