What I like most about my PB is that there is no lag when hitting the accelerator, unlike my prior EB. The electric motor provides instant torque and acceleration until the turbos wind up. I don't stomp on it in park so can't comment there. When moving with adaptive cruise engaged it is stupid unresponsive when someone is turning in front of me, but that doesn't sound like your issue.

Hope you figure it out and post the resolution.

Wow - how timely! I'm having this issue - very intermittantly, and seems like its happening when I slowly roll thru STOP and making a hard right or left turn.

Only happens 1 in 20 times (estimating) but has happened enough to get me concerned.
I am guessing the electric/gas transition dynamics or a software glitsch = maybe its an "anti roll" safety mechanism???

Glad you're posting - seems like there's an issue here FORD needs to address. Most of my slow turns are in our 25 mph neighborhood with no traffic, but other day turning out of our neighborhood onto the main street (45 mph) the delay was longer - 2-3-4 seconds - no traffic, but I can see where in a high traffic situation this could become a serious problem.

Following this discussion.

I'm having this issue on '22 POWERBOOST with 54,000
@texdan The issue you describe sounds like a different issue described here: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...weboost-and-it-happens-mostly-in-turns.18165/

In those cases, it is often when the transmission is still cold, decelerating into second gear and then trying to accelerate once in second gear. This is most often the case when doing rolling stops and we are turning right, but it actually has nothing to do with turning right. So far, the only solution has been convincing them to either do a complete transmission rebuild or replacement. The hardest part is convincing the dealer that there is a problem, as they often don’t try hard to replicate the issue and chalk it up to the few seconds delay that can be normal.

@mrichard02 , I feel your pain. My ‘22 in normal mode isn’t too dissimilar. I’ve had it just sputter applying throttle in park on occasion.

I think it’s bit luck of the draw. Some of these have optimal parts throughout and just run, a handful have some part (ghost in the machine) that isn’t working great but is not diagnosable without it failing completely so that it throws a code.

I’ve found dealers around here are ill equipped and trained for this kind of trouble shooting, let alone have interest in pursuing. Have had one try to sell me the comparison truck lol.

Hope you have better luck with it, will keep an eye on this thread for updates.

I think I’ve had it once, maybe twice, in over 2 years of ownership where I thought “come on truck let’s go” and then I got the power I was looking for.

To me it felt like I caught the computer in no-man’s-land or something. Like it was not expecting throttle, mid downshift, quickly after braking and just took a second to process everything.

It was a bit disconcerting as I was turning across traffic.

If this happened constantly I would definitely detest it.

Sorry I can’t help just wanted to tell you I feel your pain.

Great description @Jerome10 , also notice it seems to occur at inopportune times with traffic. Agree with frequency sentiment.
I try to get into the habit of turning off the TC / Stability control as it can compound problems when the power comes back. would be great of it would retain last setting.
Lawyers won that round!

I am experiencing it more often now, and not just during right hand turns while putting my foot in it. I had the stumble pressing the gas gently in the neighborhood driving straight. I was beginning to suspect the fuel pump, but after reading that it happened to someone with ICE off, I’m now agreeing with the opinion the accelerator/throttle position sensor is the most likely candidate. Does anyone know how the circuit functions?

I too have this same issue on my ‘23 PB 3.5. I was so sick of it I put a Banks Pedal Monster on it but only mimicked what I can do with my own foot (pressing the pedal harder or faster) still a turd off the line normally driving. Disappointed after spending all the $$ on it. The dealer just wants to rotate tires and perform regular maintenance. Anything else they say “no codes were showing” and “everything tests out okay” my favorite “ my tech can’t duplicate the issue” Ford needs to do better and hold dealerships accountable.
