I am planning to do exhaust right away as one of the first modifications when I receive my 5.0. Here is the plan I have came up with instead of an full exhaust system

1. Keep Resonator, replaced factory muffler with aftermarket muffler
(Need Advice for deep sounding muffler that isn't too loud, but has a deep done)

2. I will be adding a exhaust cutout as well before the resonator and muffler
(This will allow me to switch to an extremely loud exhaust and then easily switch back to just the aftermarket muffler and resonator).

*I am leaning towards Carven series TR muffler, they are fairly new to the muffler market, but I have heard their mufflers in person on other trucks have some of the deepest tones. I have also seen a 5.0 video with carven TR and it seems ideal.

???????????!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have any other recommendations ??????????????!!!!!!

I had Gibson stainless steel cat back on my last truck. It was a Chevy but sounded awesome. I have heard the same exhaust on a f150 with the coyote and it sounded awesome too

If you are wanting deep tone and not raspy then a chambered muffler is probably the way to go. I will say the exception to that rule has been the Roush exhaust I have which is a straight through muffler but gives me none of the cackle or raspy tone you normally hear from that muffler design.

I replaced the 5.0L stock muffler with the Borla XR1 40085.

The Truck sounds great on start up and has a deep rumble to it. Also it’s kind of reserved around town until you get on it.

It’s a fairly inexpensive upgrade that your muffler shop can install easily.

Does it have any raspy/crackly noise to it, or just the deep rumble?

My son has a Diamond Eye 4" single on his 2011 F150 5.0 and it is my favorite. Very deep sound and has tolerable rumble in the cabin (no resonator). Most classic sound I've heard in person with a Coyote. Ill be looking for a similar setup with my 21.

To me it isn‘t raspy at all. This is a cold start sound capture and it does get a little deeper when warmed up.

I’m running vibrant ultra quiet resonator, no mufflers. Deep rumble, no drone, good volume!
Have you posted a sound clip? I would like to hear it.

I cut my muffler off and ran a straight pipe from the resonator with 15 miles on the truck. Love it lol
