Not quite 2 months and a fuzz over 1200 miles.

Flawless performance, right at 22 MPG avg. No warnings or notifications, until just now when I saw this warning on Ford Pass.

My routine trips are short. 8 miles to town to run errands and another back.

Electrically, I haven't babied it, welcome is enabled and climate control is on auto but I've tried to pay attention. Not unnecessarily carry the fob with me, Eco idle is enabled etc. but I have been fitting it with a trailer cam system and a few other things so, some time more than what will eventually be normal, in accessory mode.

Just back from a 300ish mile round trip over the weekend and a 3 stop 50 mile rt on Mon. One would think it was charged.

Yesterday was the first day it was used as a truck. Nothing heavy but carrying tools from spot to spot with the tailgate down. Several starts and stops, just minutes long. And I had the fob on me. It probably woke up to welcome me ... 20 times? Maybe a little more? I'd honestly forgotten the first couple and then decided to just let things run their course and see what happened. Well ...

I'll pop the hood and log the voltage. See if it will start. If not, I'll walk away for 20 mins. Try again. Try out the new jump pack if it won't. Probably put it on the charger, either way.

I'll get back with you on the results.

My ‘21 has just over 30K and has been stuck in deep sleep mode since June 3. Mentioned it to the dealer when I dropped it off for an oil change-nothing done. Called CS twice on the phone for an hour each time, first time cut off and no call back. 2nd time after an hour they said it needs to go to the dealer. They scheduled 3 hours due to other warrant work, kept it all day and the only thing that changed is I have half as many radio presets! They said I need to bring it back for a whole but of course they can’t get it in for 3 weeks. I’m very frustrated, driven F159s for over 40 years and I’m starting to look at GMC/Chevy. I get a new one every 3 years so this truck will be going away in 6 months and not sure what I’m replacing it with now lots of good options out there.

Welcome lights came on but maybe more dim than normal?

Popped the hood. 12.04V

Started right up on ICE.

14.43V

Shut it down, at probably less than a minute run time. 12.2V

Its on a smart charger now and it jumped all the way to 16.5V, right off the bat.

Just a few minutes on the charger and the deep sleep warning is gone.

I'll try putting it on a charger and see what that does. The truck is driven pretty much daily and at least 100 miles at one time twice per week. I've never had a problem starting the truck but I'll see if the charger helps and will report back.

Make sure you connect the neg clamp to the BMS, not the neg post.

Otherwise, the truck won't read the new charge. It self corrects overnight but why wait?

Thanks for letting me know about the BMS. I watched a Youtube video with an explanation so I know what to do. The video explained that the start/stop feature won't work and mine works fine. Also stated dome lights and accessories won't work when shutting down the truck but again mine all work fine. I'll see what happens following an overnight charge but I won't be able to complete that until this weekend. Off today for a 160 mile drive but I'm pretty sure it will still be in deep sleep when I arrive. Ford CS states there is no communication to the modem but they also state my software is up to date but the dealer said they need to complete 4 updates which when they completed them the truck said it failed and needed to start over.

This (again) sounds like an OEM battery that sat unused for some months. Funny things happen in a lead acid battery when it just sits (waiting for chips). Impurities plate out on active material reducing capacity. The chemistry will appear just fine until a real load is placed on it. I began getting some odd warnings over Thanksgiving weekend travels. Popped into a NAPA along the way and got a replacement drop in battery... not a peep since. So as the guy said above... Just go out and get a new battery.

The charger had reached float and batt @13.8V.

I looked around a little for a date on the batt but I either missed it or it is in an unobvious place.

The truck was built in the first week of May, so it didn't sit long before delivery. Who knows how long on a shelf but not that long in the truck. It is an 800 CC and this is the first time I've done anything other than take voltage readings.

I could jog to AutoZone, buy a battery, install it and still beat that diesel to 60mph. Heck it will probably still be cranking since they won’t issue a recall.

What are these drivers transporting with a tiny diesel 1/2 ton?

I just had six wooden crates with Localizer antennas delivered at MCO and the driver had a Ram 3500 with a Cummins diesel and a flatbed trailer. Hot shot delivery from OKC. Now that is a transporter.

Funny how no other brand or model of truck ever has any problems, recalls, nothing. Not a lick of trouble over hundreds of thousands of miles and yet they abandoned all that for a POS Ford F-150 Powerboost that has nothing but problems.
