I have a 2022 Lariat PB 4x4 502A loaded 6k miles and I cannot even get this set up anymore. I have to get a KR to even get close to the options I have. With Granger and incentives, I paid $59,800 for a $73k MSRP truck after 2 or 3 price increases from order date 1/28/2022. They couldn't offer me enough to part with this creampuff. But who knows. :)
My 22 Lariat with 5.0 order from fac on X deal might turn into my forever classic with only 9Kmiles on it... Divorced now - no more access to X deal.. Worth every penny

Has anybody else here had their dealership make an extremely tempting offer to purchase your truck?

A couple days ago I dropped my truck off for some maintenance work. A couple hours after that I get a call from what I thought would have been the service department. It was actually the sales manager. They told me how they don't have enough newer used trucks and that they have quite a bit of new inventory. He continued and said they could definitely pay off my truck with some cash to spare.
Honestly at first I kind of laughed at him...like you have to be kidding me right!? I just purchased that truck in June of 24.

Anyways when I went to pick the truck up they had an offer sitting on the table for me. They would pay off the entire loan from Ford credit and the additional money would go towards a down payment for a new truck.

They called me again yesterday and I once again told them sorry I'm not interested and I just dumped a bunch of money in that truck. I figured if I told them I wanted a super duty for one hell of a price they would leave me alone. Nope. Without even having to use an x plan they already had the price considerably lower than MSRP. Honestly if I didn't just dump a bunch of money into my truck I would be in a Lariat Super Duty right now.

I told the sales manager you want my keypad right? ?????????

So what the hell is going on? Anybody know?
Its 100% the keypad ?

I wonder why I got a call a week after my last oil change from a sales guy from my dealership? Maybe the sales guy asked the oil change monkeys to keep an eye out for nice trucks and let him know?
I have my 21 Lariat 502A with only 35K Kilometers on it, I have the Ford Performance Offroad Blackput package that I know a dealership was adding 15K on top of MSRP for it added at the dealer.
My 4 year lease is up in July and he was offering 15K over my lease buyout.
No thanks, I have built my truck to the exact way I want, I haven't had a single issue with it since new.
Id jump on that deal all day my 22 502a buyout in july is 47k kbb and or dealers offer 41k

But the exact same truck I have in a 25 model is 20K more than what I paid for it, so I will not be ahead. The 2025 502A's have less than what I have now.My buyout this Juky is35K and I would be stupid to not do it. I have a PemiumCare for 8 years, 100K miles, so t will not cost me for repairs if need for the next 4 years.

Isn’t this just what car dealers do?
Yes. It’s a long used tactic to get a new car sold. I’ve gotten the same offer from multiple dealerships on different cars for years.

Every time I am at my dealer or see the GM around town, he wants my truck. I tell him no every time.

He knows that I can't get the same truck anymore. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a Lariat, but you cannot get a 6.5' bed in an XLT or Lariat with the sport or black package and I don't need a Platinum! I haul quite a bit of stuff and the 5.5' just doesn't cut it for me.

After 3.5 years I only have 33k on mine and have had very few issues with it. I will wait to see what the next gen brings to the table before I entertain a trade!

Took a couple of days after my visit to the dealership. The visit my of had nothing to do with it... but got this yesterday.

Edit: Just realized, this came not from the dealer that serviced my truck, but the dealer that sold me the truck. The one I never do business with again.

With Carvana, Carmax and Auto Nation all buying as many cars as they can, the local dealers really can't compete and rely on trade-ins. Always get a buy figure from Carvana and Carmax before going to a dealer so you have real numbers when you negotiate.
Carvana and CarMax estimates are laughingly low on a 302 high xlt

All you require is a strong distaste for car payments to dissolve any of these matters :) NO THANK YOU MINE IS PAID OFF LMAO. Context is important here. 0% interest means nothing because of inflation. I bought mine in 2021 at $47K and 0% interest. Assume in today's value it was $60k to get the same truck. That's 5% interest rate over a 48 month term. It simply means nothing if you jack the price sky high.

That's not been my experience... I've found the dealers to be laughably low on trade-in values. Carvana is still offering me what I paid for the truck a year ago.

I've had 2 dealers offer the same as CarMax, and 2 offer me reasonable trades ins. 37500 from CarMax and 42000 from dealer

Several times a year I get an offer from a Ford dealer as my truck has extremely low mileage. No point is selling it and spending $5,000 or more in sales tax and DMV fees on a new truck. I would love to havea supercab instead of my supercrew with its very long wheelbase but not at the cost that would be involved.
