When to Buy Extended Warranty

I actually bought an ESP from Ford directly this week and it goes for 3 years/48K miles from where I am currently and the price was $3800. I looked at Flood or Granger Ford and I decided to just go through Ford directly even though it was a few dollars more. No inspection was required and I put down $600 and its $132 a month for 24 months. basically a bumper to bumper warranty and the best part is only $100 deductible.
My truck is a 22' with 44k. so it's out of bumper to bumper but not powertrain warranty.
There is no waiting period on any repair either. The list of items covered is very extensive! This is not for everyone but its what I decided was best and easiest for me!
